How did you get into this building? This apartment room? What the fuck is going on? Let's refer back to this page for a semi in-depth, wow so detailed, explanation of your current situation. Are you up to speed? Great. Now, here's the question of the hour: what are you going to do about it? A ▢ Unlike the other coven members, the newbies are coming into the apartment building with non-empty apartment rooms. Depending on how polite or cautious you are, your first instinct may be to find your apartment and knock on the door. But it is your apartment now, too, and you do have an ID card that'll get you in. What horrible calamity will you walk in on? What eccentric roommates will you happen upon? The wacky situational comedy scenarios are ENDLESS. B ▢ One of the jobs on the job board this week is fundraising -- neat, right? Before you even make it up to your apartment, you may be accosted by an excited citizen -- coven member or no -- that is trying to push something onto your character. Chocolate bars? Cheese logs? Cookie dough? Some other luxury item or overpriced snack food? Because this fundraising task is based on commission, the citizen in question may be a bit pushy...or you may be inclined to buy ridiculous amounts of goods and not know what to do with yourself.

New coven members showing up today are in luck. This week, Shehui is celebrating a Keep the Community Clean event. It's rare that they force jobs on people, but there has been an influx of new citizens and the population growth is leading to more trash. Fulfill your assignment and you'll be rewarded 1,000 credits. Don't? Be fined 500. Everyone has been sent a job to their ID, be it collecting trash, cleaning their apartment building or holding up signs/handing out literature about recycling. Sweeping, bagging...it's dirty work, but someone has to do it. C ▢ Cleaning up trash on the street might be hard, but it's fulfilling! Okay, that's a lie. It's demeaning and a lot of citizens don't really care about the minimal littering credit deduction as they toss trash from their cars or miss throwing it into bins. Volunteers are outfitted with gloves, vests and a roll of trash bags, but it doesn't prevent them from being rudely splashed with snow or having to pick up nasty things. Have fun! D ▢ For those who decided to pass out literature, you did pick the better job! It's a lot easier to avoid getting nasty, but it's also awkward...having to hand out fliers, be cheerful, regurgitate boring facts about recycling. Please sir, stop and listen to this exciting speech about why should put your cans in the red bins, not the blue ones! E ▢ There is a bright side to these jobs: local businesses are getting in on the outpouring of people out and about to try and get them into seats and buying things. Free samples are abound! There's a local coffee shop, Mooncents, that is handing out free small drinks to anyone who is actually working today. Come inside, regardless if you "volunteer" or not. It's warm inside with all that snow out there...

Speaking of snow! Most businesses and buildings in Shehui have paid to have snow falling every other hour, which coats the city areas in a fine, powdery dust of snowflakes. You may be familiar with snow, or maybe you've never seen it in your entire life! It's unavoidable either way, so you're going to have to deal with it. F ▢ Children in Shehui are usually in a school building somewhere, but snow days call for some leniency. School is pretty come-and-go anyway, so don't be surprised that there are quite a few kidlets out and about on the streets. They're also fully into the spirit of snow, throwing snowballs at unsuspecting strangers. Will you get in on the action, or will you plan the murder of innocent children today? G ▢ While it's unadvised to just go lay out in the street and make snow angels, there are plenty of parks in which to examine or play in the snow. You won't be the only one acting like a fool -- it's Shehui. You're allowed to live a little! H ▢ Finally, Coins! has bought the most snow as a means for their seasonal activity -- snow paintball. If you're looking to have a good time and enjoy Shehui for what it is, you'd best be inclined to sign up. A massive field with snowbanks and excellent areas for hiding, snowball paintballs that hurt twice as much as usual. What more could you ask for? I ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world?

[Unlike sharks falling from the sky, 2B doesn't have a reason to let the paper airplane(s) hit her. She does, however, pick one out of the air curiously as this is the first time she's ever seen one. At the very least she knows that this must be shaped to be like some kind of plane??? How odd.

And after looking around to see where they might be coming from... Oh, huh. Making her way over!!]

[CAUGHT RED-HANDED, not that Okuni was trying to hide evidence of her crimes very hard what with her throwing airplanes in broad daylight!! Which is probably why she doesn't look put out at being spotted, instead she waves at 2B, paper airplane in hand.]

Ooh, 2B-chan! I've seen a lot of boring faces so far, so I'm glad to see yours again. [2B can withstand falling DEAD SHARKS, that automatically makes her 10x more interesting than everyone else here.] What are you up to? Still beating up sharks and saving people's lives?

[okay that shark was already dead to begin with but it still counts, 2B TOTALLY KICKED ITS DEAD FISH BUTT]

There haven't been any sharks since then, so no. [Otherwise she would still definitely beat one up to save people if necessary?? The opportunity just hasn't risen again....] I'm still doing what I can to help people though.

But how are you? You disappeared so suddenly, I wasn't sure what to think.

[There’s something charming about the way 2B just casually says “yeah I’m still here being helpful”, Okuni thinks. Maybe it’s because she has a feeling that 2B will help her without asking her too many questions about it (we’re looking at you, sakichi). Okuni looks thoughtfully far off into the metaphorical distance at this question because… she has no idea??? WHERE WAS SHE…]

You weren’t sure what to think… does that mean you weren’t worried about me? You didn’t miss me at all, 2B-chan?

[At this, Okuni clasps her hands together under her now suddenly wobbly chin, her eyes glimmering… This would probably work on anyone other than 2B honestly]

[It probably would tbh because 2B just has. Absolutely no idea what Okuni's doing. Why are her eyes glimmering?? Is she going to cry??? But why????? What a mystery.]

I was very worried. [VERY MATTER OF FACT-LY but a human's safety is indeed important to her!] Although I wanted to believe that you'd simply been returned to your home, there was no way to confirm that. Was that not the case?

[Although that doesn't answer if she missed her, oops.... But ultimately she thinks that regardless of whether she did or not, the people here returning to their homes if they want to is more important than what she might feel on the matter.]

[that doesn't answer if she missed her!!! but that's fine. knowing Okuni, she'd probably flip at a genuine affirmation that 2B actually missed her and would have to skedaddle away to be even more punkish than usual (OKUNI IS A GIANT TSUNDERE). so as it stands, 2B's answer is perfectly satisfactory.]

Unfortunately, I can't say that it is. I didn't get to go home -- or anywhere interesting! I didn't even get to dream about anything interesting. It's like I went to bed after beating up those weird fish monster things and then I woke up to a new home and a stupid job to do.

[BORING!! AWFUL!!!]

It might be that I simply don't remember... But if I went home, then I would have come back with plenty of injuries. And here I am, perfectly fine!

[she is INDIGNANT that she is in GOOD HEALTH also she was fighting a bunch of Intense Ninja back home, so she's sure she would have gotten ninja stabbed a few times if she did get to go back.... the world will never know]

[That is... honestly intensely worrying. With nothing to say otherwise, she really wanted to believe that people had simply been returned home, because if not, what was there? She's glad Okuni didn't experience anything bad at least, but there's no guarantee that's how it was for everyone.

Although from the sound of it, she's not sure if it would've been better for Okuni to go home either.....]

Is there something dangerous happening in your home?

If I said yes, then would you offer your help? [she laughs partly because it's impossible and partly because she's just being a giant tease.] It's just the usual things. I'm sure it's not any more dangerous than what goes on in your home.

Hm... [And yet here she is seriously considering it. Even for aiding humanity, she's not sure she could bring herself to leave 9S. Then again, he might just decide to go with her anyways if she decided to.] I might, if you really needed it.

[Because ??? YEAH SHE REALLY HOPES HER WORLD ISN'T AS DANGEROUS AS HERS. There's a reason androids are fighting off machines and not humans.]

I can't say I know much about what kinds of things would've been happening with humanity thriving though, so it's hard to say.

That gets another smile out of Okuni because THAT IS VERY SWEET, AND ALSO VERY NAIVE, steadfast guardian robot girls are the best.]

Oh? [wait what] Is your world filled with more of your kind then?

[If that's what it takes to protect humanity, then so be it!! Because YES...... HUMANS ARE ENDANGERED (or so she thinks).]

... It used to be. [Saying "filled" might be an exaggeration, but there were quite a few YoRHa soldiers before. Well, everything.] Almost all of YoRHa was wiped out, but there are other androids in my world still.

[THAT SOUNDS LIKE A VERY SAD AND SENSITIVE SUBJECT... It's not like Okuni's such an unfeeling punk that she'll tread over sensitive matters like that, but it's also not in her nature to show pity or sadness -- it's a little arrogant to presume to know how 2B feels about her world, what right does Okuni have in shoving feelings in her face...

Though, as expected, she is still curious.]

Hmm, that sounds even more dangerous than my own world! [COOL....] You still did your best in that world, regardless of the dangers?

I tried to, at least. [It's debatable how much that really meant in the end and in the grand scheme of things, but she tried, if nothing else.] It was very dangerous though. There's a reason we're the ones fighting and not humanity.

We humans are very weak. [Okuni.... Look she isn't even shading herself, she's stating true facts.]

Most of us need all the help we can get. The fact that you still tried must be a testament to your strength, 2B-chan.

... Maybe. I don't think it's anything special though.

[She's not anything special, just another android soldier in a long line of them. There's nothing really wrong with that in her eyes though. It's just how it is.]

But I don't know about that. Every human I've met here has been exceptionally interesting. [Maybe it's just hard for her to imagine them as actually weak when she's programmed to worship them, but her respect for the people here is personal and genuine!!]
