How did you get into this building? This apartment room? What the fuck is going on? Let's refer back to this page for a semi in-depth, wow so detailed, explanation of your current situation. Are you up to speed? Great. Now, here's the question of the hour: what are you going to do about it? A ▢ Unlike the other coven members, the newbies are coming into the apartment building with non-empty apartment rooms. Depending on how polite or cautious you are, your first instinct may be to find your apartment and knock on the door. But it is your apartment now, too, and you do have an ID card that'll get you in. What horrible calamity will you walk in on? What eccentric roommates will you happen upon? The wacky situational comedy scenarios are ENDLESS. B ▢ One of the jobs on the job board this week is fundraising -- neat, right? Before you even make it up to your apartment, you may be accosted by an excited citizen -- coven member or no -- that is trying to push something onto your character. Chocolate bars? Cheese logs? Cookie dough? Some other luxury item or overpriced snack food? Because this fundraising task is based on commission, the citizen in question may be a bit pushy...or you may be inclined to buy ridiculous amounts of goods and not know what to do with yourself.

New coven members showing up today are in luck. This week, Shehui is celebrating a Keep the Community Clean event. It's rare that they force jobs on people, but there has been an influx of new citizens and the population growth is leading to more trash. Fulfill your assignment and you'll be rewarded 1,000 credits. Don't? Be fined 500. Everyone has been sent a job to their ID, be it collecting trash, cleaning their apartment building or holding up signs/handing out literature about recycling. Sweeping, bagging...it's dirty work, but someone has to do it. C ▢ Cleaning up trash on the street might be hard, but it's fulfilling! Okay, that's a lie. It's demeaning and a lot of citizens don't really care about the minimal littering credit deduction as they toss trash from their cars or miss throwing it into bins. Volunteers are outfitted with gloves, vests and a roll of trash bags, but it doesn't prevent them from being rudely splashed with snow or having to pick up nasty things. Have fun! D ▢ For those who decided to pass out literature, you did pick the better job! It's a lot easier to avoid getting nasty, but it's also awkward...having to hand out fliers, be cheerful, regurgitate boring facts about recycling. Please sir, stop and listen to this exciting speech about why should put your cans in the red bins, not the blue ones! E ▢ There is a bright side to these jobs: local businesses are getting in on the outpouring of people out and about to try and get them into seats and buying things. Free samples are abound! There's a local coffee shop, Mooncents, that is handing out free small drinks to anyone who is actually working today. Come inside, regardless if you "volunteer" or not. It's warm inside with all that snow out there...

Speaking of snow! Most businesses and buildings in Shehui have paid to have snow falling every other hour, which coats the city areas in a fine, powdery dust of snowflakes. You may be familiar with snow, or maybe you've never seen it in your entire life! It's unavoidable either way, so you're going to have to deal with it. F ▢ Children in Shehui are usually in a school building somewhere, but snow days call for some leniency. School is pretty come-and-go anyway, so don't be surprised that there are quite a few kidlets out and about on the streets. They're also fully into the spirit of snow, throwing snowballs at unsuspecting strangers. Will you get in on the action, or will you plan the murder of innocent children today? G ▢ While it's unadvised to just go lay out in the street and make snow angels, there are plenty of parks in which to examine or play in the snow. You won't be the only one acting like a fool -- it's Shehui. You're allowed to live a little! H ▢ Finally, Coins! has bought the most snow as a means for their seasonal activity -- snow paintball. If you're looking to have a good time and enjoy Shehui for what it is, you'd best be inclined to sign up. A massive field with snowbanks and excellent areas for hiding, snowball paintballs that hurt twice as much as usual. What more could you ask for? I ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world?

The last time something like this got handed out...people died.

[Roxas isn't much for mincing words, and never has been. Perhaps his original had a gentler touch unless angered, but in contrast he's frank and to the point. So far as he's concerned he has every reason to dispose of these chocolates in case they do similar damage.

It might be another worlds entirely, but the darkness that had infected those candy bars had eluded his detection until it was too late. As such, he can't trust his abilities]

[His frank response will catch her off guard. She had a lot of questions already forming in her head, but instead of acting on impulse her attention will return to his box. It was clear from the way she'll reach for one of the chocolates she had something else in mind.]

This calls for a taste test! You better know the location of the nearest hospitals are. My kid is waiting for me back at the apartments.

[While speaking her very much blunt response to the cloaked boy, loud enough for the group surrounding them to take notice, some may slow their pace while others will watch from the corner or distance, Nike will remove a piece of the wrapper and place the chocolate into her mouth. Chewing for a bit. A while, actually. It won't be long until she turns to the boy with a smirk.]

It's really good! Not enough to die for, but...perfect for on the go!

[Why, yes, she may have just given a good sales pitch because some may be sighing or offering weak applauding, believing it was a random show now.]

[Were it not for the box in his hands, Roxas would've moved to stop her. As it stands, he isn't fast enough, shoulders tensing as she proceeds to eat some of the candy bar.

Despite her declaration, his uneasy posture fails to relax]

The effects weren't immediate. That's why it was...

[Such a very high death count. But there's only one thing for it now, isn't there?]

I'll just have to keep an eye on you, in case.

[drizzle]

[Even though he informs over the effects having taken time, Nike continues to eat from the same chocolate bar, it was clear she wasn't all that concern. She knew it'd be impossible for the treats to be toxic. Not in this world. Well, she hasn't seen anyone dying yet.]

If it makes you feel any better, then sure! We can just do another performance some other time.

[She assumes the treats were meant to be sold. This world did work in that type of system. Her main concern were over his credits than anything else.]

So? Do you have any plans or can I borrow you for a few errands?

[cloak]

[Roxas would still rather dispose of the chocolates than not. If he could return them he would, but then there'd be no telling how many people would be harmed as a result anyhow.

This girl doesn't seem concerned, but he thinks she ought to be. Isn't there even a saying about taking candy from strangers?]

If you mean jobs, I don't mind.

[Roxas shoots the box a glance...

And then he's making for the nearest wastebin]

[drizzle]

[If there was a saying over taking candy from strangers, it clearly didn't exist in her time period. She's never heard of it!]

Hah? You're fine with just jobs? I rather use you to help me carry some stuff around before having fun! You do know the meaning of it, right?

[Of course she may just be slightly teasing him. Either way, she'll watch him with a curious gaze until realizing where he was heading with the box of chocolates.]

Hey, wait, what are you doing? You can't throw those out? We haven't figured out if they're dangerous or not yet.

[cloak]

We have to earn our way around here, right?

[And Roxas imagines that's going to include paying off these chocolate bars. It's better to be safe than sorry, because he's certainly been the latter before]

I'd rather pay for it than risk it.

[Death by chocolate isn't at all a fun thing to see]

[drizzle]

[Nike will nod her head on his first question, happy to find he caught on, but his next response will gain a concerned look.]

...was your experience with candy really that bad?

[Instead of taking another bite of the item in question, she'll use the wrapper to seal it and place it in one of her pockets. It was clear she was willing to listen to his story to get a good idea behind his own reasoning.]

Being told to give out chocolates of unknown origin?

[Surely it sounds as sketchy to her as it does to him, from the getgo. Surely it does...]

Last time, people died. Better safe than sorry on this one.

[And that's why he'll be watching her like a hawk]

Unkown origin? What do you consider by unknown origin? Do you need to know where all of your food comes from?

[He couldnt possibly be as paranoid as he was beginning to sound like; however she does admit if she had a similar experience to his she may be more cautious. Actually, she would taste the chocolate as she was doing now before deciding to do anything with it. She'll reach for her piece of candy once more to take another bite.]

If you need to know, I feel just fine. I haven't felt weak, my throat hasn't stung, and I don't have any urge to drink excessive amounts of water.

[From her tone, she may have knowledge about poison and its effects. With a light shrug, she'll begin to walk.]

Follow me. You're going to help me with my delivery jobs today. If you make enough to pay for those chocolates, I'll allow you to throw them out, but if you can't, then you're stuck with them. Got it?

[Roxas isn't too sure why this girl is making it her business to ensure that he earns enough, but he recognizes it as a kindness. She's trying, for whatever reason, to help. It's obvious she doesn't understand the source of his concern, but he's beginning to suspect that no amount of explanation will help.

She wasn't there to see people infected by ayakashi walking into incoming traffic or leaping in front of trains, all because those dark beings had been concealed in what seemed to be perfectly harmless candy bars]

I don't sleep, so I won't have trouble getting work done.

[There's not much else for him to do, when everyone else is sleeping, after all]

And I'm going to be limited, if my hands are full.

[So he dumps those candy bars into the wastebin as planned]

You don't sleep?

[She couldn't help give him an incredulous expression at his response. What does he mean by that? Was it literal or...? It was a good thing his next decision will snap her out of it though.]

What are you doing!? Weren't you listening to me before!

[In record time, she will reach for the box of chocolates he had just thrown into the waterbin with an irritated expression.]

I said, until you have enough money to pay for all of this, then you must absolutely not throw them out! If you wanted to empty up your hands, we could've just gone to my job and put it in the employee lockers! I have one.

[Did this kid not rely on others for help? She couldn't help begin to wonder because he really didn't ask for her opinion on the best way to handle the box issue. Then again, they just met, maybe it takes time for him to do those things.]

I can earn currency just fine. The last world I was on had a similar system.

[Roxas can only hope she's not going to fish through the trash for that box. He can hardly swat her away, but even with the shadows of his hood obscuring his face, she can surely feel how closely he's watching her.

It wasn't a decision he'd made lightly, throwing those away. But it seems far safer than reliving the Valentine's Day incident]
