[DECEMBER INTRO LOG | WORLD TWO]

Who: All coven members, especially new folk!
Where: In and around the new world’s apartment building where the coven is staying, as well as the rest of Shehui
When: Day 160
Open/Closed: Open to All

How did you get into this building? This apartment room? What the fuck is going on? Let's refer back to this page for a semi in-depth, wow so detailed, explanation of your current situation.

Are you up to speed? Great.

Now, here's the question of the hour: what are you going to do about it?

A ▢ Unlike the other coven members, the newbies are coming into the apartment building with non-empty apartment rooms. Depending on how polite or cautious you are, your first instinct may be to find your apartment and knock on the door. But it is your apartment now, too, and you do have an ID card that'll get you in. What horrible calamity will you walk in on? What eccentric roommates will you happen upon? The wacky situational comedy scenarios are ENDLESS.

B ▢ One of the jobs on the job board this week is fundraising -- neat, right? Before you even make it up to your apartment, you may be accosted by an excited citizen -- coven member or no -- that is trying to push something onto your character. Chocolate bars? Cheese logs? Cookie dough? Some other luxury item or overpriced snack food? Because this fundraising task is based on commission, the citizen in question may be a bit pushy...or you may be inclined to buy ridiculous amounts of goods and not know what to do with yourself.

New coven members showing up today are in luck. This week, Shehui is celebrating a Keep the Community Clean event. It's rare that they force jobs on people, but there has been an influx of new citizens and the population growth is leading to more trash. Fulfill your assignment and you'll be rewarded 1,000 credits. Don't? Be fined 500.

Everyone has been sent a job to their ID, be it collecting trash, cleaning their apartment building or holding up signs/handing out literature about recycling. Sweeping, bagging...it's dirty work, but someone has to do it.

C ▢ Cleaning up trash on the street might be hard, but it's fulfilling! Okay, that's a lie. It's demeaning and a lot of citizens don't really care about the minimal littering credit deduction as they toss trash from their cars or miss throwing it into bins. Volunteers are outfitted with gloves, vests and a roll of trash bags, but it doesn't prevent them from being rudely splashed with snow or having to pick up nasty things. Have fun!

D ▢ For those who decided to pass out literature, you did pick the better job! It's a lot easier to avoid getting nasty, but it's also awkward...having to hand out fliers, be cheerful, regurgitate boring facts about recycling. Please sir, stop and listen to this exciting speech about why should put your cans in the red bins, not the blue ones!

E ▢ There is a bright side to these jobs: local businesses are getting in on the outpouring of people out and about to try and get them into seats and buying things. Free samples are abound! There's a local coffee shop, Mooncents, that is handing out free small drinks to anyone who is actually working today. Come inside, regardless if you "volunteer" or not. It's warm inside with all that snow out there...

Speaking of snow! Most businesses and buildings in Shehui have paid to have snow falling every other hour, which coats the city areas in a fine, powdery dust of snowflakes. You may be familiar with snow, or maybe you've never seen it in your entire life! It's unavoidable either way, so you're going to have to deal with it.

F ▢ Children in Shehui are usually in a school building somewhere, but snow days call for some leniency. School is pretty come-and-go anyway, so don't be surprised that there are quite a few kidlets out and about on the streets. They're also fully into the spirit of snow, throwing snowballs at unsuspecting strangers. Will you get in on the action, or will you plan the murder of innocent children today?

G ▢ While it's unadvised to just go lay out in the street and make snow angels, there are plenty of parks in which to examine or play in the snow. You won't be the only one acting like a fool -- it's Shehui. You're allowed to live a little!

H ▢ Finally, Coins! has bought the most snow as a means for their seasonal activity -- snow paintball. If you're looking to have a good time and enjoy Shehui for what it is, you'd best be inclined to sign up. A massive field with snowbanks and excellent areas for hiding, snowball paintballs that hurt twice as much as usual. What more could you ask for?

I ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world?

[Why would anyone want to stop someone from eating snow!! It's just water!! Says Okuni, who's a giant feudal era Japan baby, so she's probably also eaten snow at some point too. gj guys]

[For now, she seems to be in the middle of rolling a giant snowball that comes up to her waist with the determination of woman on a Mission. Or possibly not a very important mission, since she stops rolling and calls out to Mikazuki. Okuni always has enough time to chat!!]

You should put your face in it! It's far more refreshing that way.

[chat about things people shouldn't do]
deusex: (ninety;)

[ you don't know where it's been??? gj you trashbags.

even with the mounting curiosity about the snow, Mikazuki nevertheless stops and turns his head to look in the direction of where the call is coming from, spotting Okuni and her ... giant snowball.

His hand is stinging now from the cold, and he withdraws it for now into his pocket, attempting to warm it up. ]

It's too cold.

[ he isn't stupid!!! ]

What are you gonna do with that?

osuni: (im here for the gossip)

[personal profile] osuni 2017-12-09 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Okuni looks momentarily disappointed that Mikazuki actually possesses common sense, but she brightens at the question.]

To build with, of course. Are you interested? Curious? Want to come along and help?

[if mikazuki squints, he could probably see a couple of other giant snowballs in the distance. Okuni has been Busy.]
deusex: (fortythree;)

[personal profile] deusex 2017-12-10 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ he's going to just eye her and the accompanying snowball critically, like he doesn't really know what she's talking about and couldn't care less to be honest.

but he is a little curious. what can you do with snow apart from just letting it melt away? ]

Building what?
osuni: (oWo what's that)

[personal profile] osuni 2017-12-13 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
[She's glad he asked!]

I haven't decided yet. [anti-climactic, but Okuni's enthusiasm doesn't even waver.] I thought about making giant snowballs to add to all the snow weaponry I've already created, you see. It's easier to take out multiple targets if I just roll these down a hill. Or, I was thinking of making a giant snowman and hiding inside of it, so I can pop out and attack anyone who comes close by. That or making a giant snowman and putting an explosive inside!

[does she look like she's kidding?? maybe or maybe not??? Okuni has an excellent poker face, basically it's just her regular smiling one.]

But I'll probably get bored of all the snow fights later, so maybe I'll end up doing something different.
deusex: (seventynine;)

[personal profile] deusex 2017-12-17 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[ that's a lot of planning.

Okuni isn't the only one with an excellent Poker face — in fact, Mikazuki's expression doesn't waver from its usual placid attention as she goes on about... snow weaponry and exploding snowman.

He doesn't even question why they've all got to do with battles and warfare. She probably has her reasons, maybe. Or maybe she's just being herself. ]

If you hide inside one of these, wouldn't you be too freezing to attack later?
osuni: (time to LEAVE)

[personal profile] osuni 2017-12-18 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Okuni both has reasons and is being herself. She's just the type to be intensely devoted to one thing at the time. The drawback is that she has a short attention span, so she usually dumps things after trying them out once or twice...]

It should be fine? I've endured worse. [Spoken like a true warrior, maybe. also, curiously, since Mikazuki's expression has not betrayed a single iota of alarm at the mention of all her bloodthirsty snow weaponry.] What would you suggest besides hiding in the snow?
deusex: (eleven;)

[personal profile] deusex 2017-12-19 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[ instead of answering immediately, Mikazuki reaches into the sling and pulls out a couple of the dried dates, popping them into his mouth and chewing. After a slight pause, he holds the rest out to her, palm up, if she's willing to try one. ]

It depends on who I'm targeting.

[ brute strength is the easiest, and that's what he prefers in terms of weaponry.

he's only ever fought in snow once, and that had been something different to this — here, there isn't anybody in their way. Here, there isn't really a way for him to head toward. ]
osuni: (speak softly)

[personal profile] osuni 2017-12-21 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Okuni plucks up the offered date with seemingly no hesitation, as if they've been friends for years.... That or because she's hungry.]

Then think of someone specific! [is she being needling, maybe a tad. but she is also interested in hearing what he has to say, this solemn boy with dates who doesn't bat an eye at all at snow wars] Maybe a hated enemy? Or a best friend? Isn't there anyone here who you'd like to shove into the snow?
deusex: (eightysix;)

[personal profile] deusex 2017-12-25 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ an enemy or a friend? ]

That makes no sense.

Why would you shove your best friend into the snow?
osuni: (i can't think of funny keywords bye)

[personal profile] osuni 2017-12-26 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Okuni's answering look is a personified "WHY WOULDN'T YOU"]

For fun! That, and it's not like best friends never get on your nerves... I'd say, if I had any best friends.

[picks up some snow and starts making a snowball]

Still, the main point is to have fun. And it's fun to have a snow fight.
deusex: (two;)

[personal profile] deusex 2017-12-30 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ look, mikazuki doesn't do jokes, okay, humour in general is largely lost on him. ]

Orga's never gotten on my nerves.

[ but fun?

Mikazuki considers it for a little while, brows furrowed slightly. ]

Show me.
osuni: (TEEHEE)

[personal profile] osuni 2018-01-05 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
[It's time to introduce Mikazuki to the world of shitheadery.... maybe, but at least Okuni perks up at what she thinks is Mikazuki's eager desire to learn new things.]

Alright. I'll show you how to have fun while throwing snow at people! That way, you can use it later on your friend Orga.

[she'd rub her hands together if she wasn't holding this snowball. She'll make up for it by pointing at him and then pointing to the far off park fence.]

This entire park will be the battlefield. The objective is to push your opponent into as many snow drifts as possible -- but you also get points if you hit them in the head with a snowball. So let's say... ten points if you get them in the snow and five points for a head shot! Whoever gets fifty points first wins the fight! You're also allowed to forfeit, just in case this gets too much for you.
deusex: (fortyfour;)

[personal profile] deusex 2018-01-09 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ mika can be pretty shitheaded too tbh.... but in certain situations.

he's just going to nod, even though he doesn't think he'll ever really ... throw snow at Orga, for any reasons. Please teach him The Ways of Showing Violent Affection to Your Friends That Isn't Kissing Them, Okuni. He desperately needs the education.

Mikazuki listens to the supposed rules intently, the corners of his mouth settling firmly as he follows the line of her gesture, scanning the area. Sounds easy enough. ]

I won't forfeit.
