[The process will be familiar to some of you and new to others: some time over the past week, Jay or someone else would have quietly approached you in person and let you know about a meeting that was taking place tonight, hopefully away from the watchful gaze of Brie, Genette, and Qri.
Jay will greet you by the door. It might be a tight fit in the Geir-and-Vern apartment (if indeed it can be considered an apartment), depending on how many people show up. Take a seat on the ground next to the dragon--or on the dragon, if he'll let you--and wait for the meeting to come to order.]

[and more of them appear the more he finds out that people were dead or in horrible situations before coming here...]

Then wanting you to have a place to go is something to think about, too!

Oh, that helps. You let me know you were being rude from the start. That makes it really simple, I like that.
[HE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE OFFENDED??]
But what's the point of being rude when you're asking questions? Do people answer them better that way?
[should he start being more rude...]
no subject
No, but it properly conveys my annoyance at the conversation topic and/or person I am conversing with, which is sometimes more important than getting answers.
[ no it's not ]
Seriously though. You barely know me.
no subject
Anyway, I like you so far. The being rude thing was really efficient 'cause I know you're annoyed with me and/or the topic now. Do you want to still be talking about it? We didn't figure that one out yet.
[enjoy... that commentary...]
no subject
Is this how you always talk? Is this, on a typical day, the usual fashion that words come out of your babble hole?
no subject
I've never said "and/or" before, but I was just saying that because you did. Is that a thing?
no subject
[ KARKAT.... ISN'T ONE TO TALK....]
no subject
[helpfully:]
Since you were confused.
Why are you annoyed, anyway?

[Karkat is contradicting himself a lot, his answers taking the conversation inevitably away from the point of whatever he's been asked about. Geir can't tell if it's that he's deliberately trying to avoid topics, or if he's just that bad at getting to the point. he may need to revise his initial, favorable impression of attempted clarity...]
Never mind. No, I'm not very mad about Qri.
no subject
If you're not mad about Qri then what the hell do you get mad about?
no subject
But there isn't anything I want to be doing back in Midgard right now, so it's not like I wake up bothered about it every day.
no subject
[ that's what he decided to focus on. ]
no subject
[you could probably have figured that out from context, his tone says. there have been enough baffling swings that Geir starts wondering: why is Karkat focusing the conversation this way...? does he have some purpose for it?]
no subject
First of all, fuck off, the name sounded so stupid that I had to check to make sure because, surely, no one would name a planet that?
no subject
I guess someone did?
[he's so adrift in this interaction.]

She didn't do me a favor, but I don't mind being here. That's why I'm not mad.
[he's given up on tact. he can barely do tact even when he can follow what the other person is talking about. and by this time mortality has been discussed in the other ambient room conversations, at least a little, so...]
If you were dead, isn't that more of a favor?
