( Hello, beloved and invited guest! Actually, you likely aren’t beloved and maybe aren’t even directly invited. Anyway! Welcome to the birthday party of the age: Lalli Saku Hotakainen who maybe possibly turned 20 sometime...now...soon? Yeah.

His birthday party reflects how unsure the party planner is of the recipient’s actual birthdate. Some parts of the party have obviously been thought out — for instance, there are three birthday cakes (1, 2, 3) and several gifts already present when you arrive. The chairs and decorations, however, are somewhat mismatched and novice in presentation. You might have enough seats for yourself and your guest, and you may or may not get tangled in some haphazard streamers that are lackadaisically slung in trees. It’s a toss up. At least there are ample plates and about five meat and vegetable snack trays.

It’s a very obviously non-traditional festivity. Also there’s a big lizard there. Have fun. )

Once they arrive, Lalli's right. Though Lisko has indeed shoved their snout into each cake at varying degrees, there are salvageable portions of each one. And then that celery; why did he even buy that shit? )

Lisko, you weren't as naughty as you could have been. ( Thanks to their growing taste for bipedal walking, it's easy to bend down and pat their head, as sticky as it may be still. ) I haven't tried that chocolate-looking one yet, so might as well.

( One of Emil's gifts is obvious -- it's a big, sloppily wrapped mass that has his name written on it. He couldn't figure out a way to wrap clothes that wasn't total garbage, but he accomplished...something. There are quite a few pairs of long socks in there, as well as a big cableknit sweater and longjohns. Nice comfortable things. There's also, tucked in the middle of the pile, a pair of socks Emil knitted himself!! They at least look like socks, even if one pair is two different colours. He ran out of string. )

Open that one first -- just watch that it doesn't spill out. ( He'll take that cake plat btw, thanks. )

The trepidation melts away when he peels back the wrapping paper, instead replaced with a light excitement. Clothes!! Soft, warm clothes he can lounge in! So many, too... Lalli rubs his face against each and every item before he moves on, intermittently letting out a happy hum, and finally...]
