Mingle: For a limited time only...

Who: Everyone!
Where: Anywhere on the hub
When: Days 134-139
Open/Closed: Open mingle goooo!

[Copper, lizards, and vines - oh my! With the recent installation of 9S and co.'s scanning equipment and the also recent, significantly wetter rainstorms there's quite a lot to check out on the island right now. Plus, the monitor robot still needs a name. You're not going to leave them nameless forever, are you?

Too bad Genette's put out word that everyone's about to be moving location soon. That means these are the last days the coven has for a little while to get everything in order, whether it's to take things to the next destination or to leave them behind. Get your bags packed and your huts cleaned, everyone!]

Really, you don't mind? You're nearly the first person who I've heard say that...

[there's a certain amount of lightheartedness in Geir's voice, but Sorey's commentary does make him think more of the serious side of them being here, and there's a question in the statement even if Geir's inflection doesn't show it. is that really how Sorey feels about being away from his world?]

Sort of. Some days.

[he gives a little shrug; articulating it and encompassing every feeling is tricky. but since he knows Geir wouldn't ask if he didn't want to know, he takes more time to mull it over]

Since we're here and there's nothing we can do about it at the moment I don't want to spend all of my energy being angry and upset about it. I can take this opportunity to learn about all sorts of things I couldn't back on my world. There's a lot of information that I can take from here and bring back to my world in order to help it; there's no way I'm going to take that for granted.

But...I have something important that I have to do back home, too, and I'm worried about how things are doing while I'm not there. So I still want to get home as soon as possible. I'm just trying to stay positive about what I can and can't do.

Do you need a lot of help at home?

[Geir mulls that one over; he did offer to help Jay already. he wonders what the situations of all the different coven members are; it's not like he can personally go and stop a war for each of them, but maybe if the coven pools their resources...]

[he's more or less on the same line of thought; his mouth quirks up a bit at the thought of bringing a dragon home to help...purify...more dragons...]

I wouldn't be opposed to help, but I don't know if it's something that more people can help out with. I was working to purify the land when I was brought here. So it's more that I just need to finish doing that when I get back, but it's hard to say if things have gotten worse while I've been here.

[Geir certainly has the enthusiasm for it, though he's still malevolent as heck, so maybe it wouldn't work out.]

I met a troll girl recently who said that where she's from, different universes aren't connected to each other by time. So maybe you can just go back to whenever you left. But I don't understand why having more people wouldn't help.

[the malevolence part is the concerning part, it would be awkward to accidentally bring back the next Lord of Calamity or something]

Well...I told you a little bit about malevolence, right? It's not something that you can completely get rid of, but it's gotten out of control where I'm from. We're...trying to bring it down to a manageable level, you could say. The only way to deal with it is to purify it, and as far as I know only a Shepherd can purify malevolence. So having more people won't necessarily help to purify the malevolence in the land.

I won't say that it's impossible. If anything, I've learned that things people have told me aren't possible are actually possible as long as you can find a way. But I haven't thought of a way to make that work.

[Geir can't help but think of the dream, with Sorey holding up the roof on his own...]

Why can only the Shepherd purify malevolence?
