[Jay's plans were put on hold by the sudden appearance of the spirits and all the chaos that came with them, but now that they appear to be gone again, it's time to take stock of what new needs they, and the changing of the seasons that seems to be occurring, might have brought to the coven. He'll be making the rounds of the beach huts and any other residences he knows are populated, knocking on doors with a stack of forms and a notebook in hand:]

Hello. I was just wondering if there was anything you needed at the moment.

[Other than that, you might find him:

i. down on the beach trying out some makeshift carpentry--he's attempting to build a little shelter for the map crate he placed on the beach some weeks ago, to protect it from the elements.
ii. weeding in the mansion garden or the one Haru's planted near the forest;
iii. out with the fishing group in the co-op, teaching newcomers how to use the freshwater tackle he salvaged from the abandoned house;
iv. wandering throughout the island, taking notes in a little notebook.

He'll stop and greet you with a wave if you approach him.]

[He wipes away sawdust from the boards, then begins nailing them together. Where did he get a hammer and nails? Who knows! He's Well Prepared.]

We usually compensate for our lack of Pokemon with technology. But that seems to be in short supply here as well.

[If it's Jay, Moon's not surprised he's his prepared.] Yeah, I really wish there was a Pokemon Center, at least. But maybe the next place we go will have more technology.

You're always hopeful.

[It might have a bit of a bite to it. But he smiles in the next moment, softening that.]

Have you talked to Jude or Madoka? They might not have experience with Pokemon physiology specifically, but they're the resident doctor and healer.

I haven't talked to Jude. [Though it's obvious on her face she's making a mental note to seek them out.] I know Madoka a little, though! But she can only use her power once a day, right? I have a few potions with me, I should probably use them first.

That's right. Do your potions heal? I have a couple gels that do the same thing; I've been saving them for emergencies.

But if you or your Pokemon suffers an injury that doesn't require immediate healing, I would go to Jude. He went to medical school, so he would know better than any of us how to deal with those kinds of things.

[There may be a little bit of trolliness in the offering-up of Jude like this. But shh.]

They heal Pokemon. I'm not sure if they'd work on anyone here--they don't heal humans, at least, but not everyone here is human. [Maybe it would work on Geir? But that's not something she wants to rely on.] I have some berries, too, but those only work on Pokemon too. [Also, it takes a little while for her to get more, due to the whole planting and growing process.]

It's a good thing we have doctors here! If I need help, I'll let him know! [Moon is completely unaware of any trolling going on.] Usually Pokemon can heal up on their own as long as it's not serious, at least.

That's interesting. I do suppose Pokemon and humans probably have different physiologies . . . ah, and of course Genette can heal, too.

Do you think your berries would grow here? There are people here with powers that could speed up the growing process.

That's what I'm hoping. I only have one of each, so I'm a little nervous about using them, but if someone could help me grow them quickly, I'd feel a lot better. [She doesn't want to have to abandon the berries in the middle of their growth.]

Tara-Fay can speed time up within a limited radius, and Flynn can change the age of things he touches. I can help you get in touch with one of them, if you like.

Thank you! [Moon beams.] As soon as I have extras, I can let people try them out for themselves, too, if they want. I know they're not poisonous to people, at least. [Maybe someone here can find uses for them.]

Have you tried eating one?

[He's smiling; it's an amusing thought.]

They get used in meals sometimes at home. ...I guess I can't say all of them are definitely not poisonous, though. [CONCERN.]

[For his part, Jay is just amused.]

We'll be sure to have Madoka on hand if we ever try it.

Right. Right, it'll be okay as long as we're careful! [Jay not seeming especially concerned is helpful, too.] As long as I have enough for my Pokemon I'm happy to donate the rest for food, too.

[That's softer, without the bite of the "you're always hopeful" from earlier.]

How have you been lately? I haven't seen you in a few days.

I've been doing pretty good! I'm taking care of my Pokemon and Cyan. [Cyan is her baby Palai, because it's a good idea to entrust an eleven-year-old with that sort of thing.] It's a little strange to have to search around for food. Usually I just buy it in a store.

It is something of an adjustment, yes. [With a small smile.] You aren't having trouble finding food, are you? I can bring you into the co-op if you are.

It's alright, my Pokemon are helping me out. [Most of them were wild-caught and happy to use their hunting and foraging skills to help Moon out.] Sometimes I do need help figuring out how to cook things, though. And I don't really know what to do with meat when it's not ready to heat... [Removing fur, removing bones...] Have you done that sort of thing before? You seem to know all sorts of stuff.

I can clean meat and cook it--passably, at least. [Probably he hung around Dirk or someone until he could clean his own boar.] Come by the hut any time and I'll help you with that--or I think dirk and the hunting group would be happy to teach you how to do that.

I should probably learn so I'm not taking up everyone's time... [Though she's obviously troubled by it.] I feel bad for the animals, though, even though we all have to eat.

It's the way life works . . . starving ourselves wouldn't be any better.

[He says it gently, though.]

Yeah... [She knows how nature works, but it's a big change.] I'm lucky I have my Pokemon to help me.
