[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.

As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.

She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.

But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

[He's not actually super hungry -- his power ensures that if he wants to snack at regular intervals he can at least find something to nibble on -- but being offered food still makes Lenka stop automatically in his tracks. It's a trained reflex, how can he pass up food.

Looking at it doesn't make him hungrier -- he's unsure about some of those combinations, but it's not like he understands different cuisines all that well...?! -- but it doesn't make him less hungry, either. He examines her offerings attentively.]

... Are you sure it's okay? [he thought they'd have to live on boar and poisonous crab and fridge roulette] Can I try all three?

[Because his luck is terrible, he's going to go down thrice as hard. #yolo]

[ all three? all three? that's perfect! orihime looks just a little more elated now, clapping her hands together and nodding her head eagerly. ]

Of course it's okay! Please help yourself to all of them!

[ she's so glad! someone wants to taste test all of these wonderful dishes!

if only she had her shun shun rikka with her, though. she's going to need to resurrect lenka from the dead. ]

[He's really going to need time reversed and also all his memories wiped from this moment onward. Once this is over.

... On the bright side, because he's planning on taste testing three dishes at once, he'll have to moderate his helpings. He also assumes Orihime is going to be feeding more people. Lenka serves himself a few spoonfuls or small pieces of each dish, taking care not to mix them -- some of them already look messy enough, he may be a fool but he's a judicious fool.]

Okay. I guess I'll start... [he says a quiet thanks over the not-quite-meal and then digs into the shrimp since that one looks the least dubious] ...

[He's still chewing, even if his nose wrinkled a little. This is where his lack of expression kind of comes in handy. It almost makes him miss rations... but it must be nutritious. It's still food, after all.]

Uh... What's in this?

[It looked like shrimp but that did not taste quite like shrimp. Whatsoever.]

[ sounds like a plan. too bad orihime doesn't have a power like that.

at least lenka's not taking huge mouthfulls of her food? he may still live yet! for his kindness, he'll be rewarded with a second chance at life and a stomach that isn't too broken beyond repair.

though...his expression is unreadable, and orihime's not really sure what he thinks about it. she can't even tell by his voice if he likes it or not! ]

Umm...it's shrimp covered in raspberry sauce, fettuccine, and brussel sprouts! I think that's it?

Lenka has probably had worse meals, but not voluntarily, and... he manages to swallow the first bite. One down, and... he looks down at what's left for a critical moment -- doesn't put down his fork, but he does let a little of his doubt come through in his voice this time.]

... I didn't know we had those ingredients here. Where did you find them?

[Maybe something in there's expired? That would explain a lot.

Or it's another case of space crabs, in which case he's dead at least six times over and may need to become a hermit for the good of humanity next.]

Oh, actually, that's my power! I can imagine foods and they come to life, hehe. So...I guess they came from my powers?

[ yeah, that's how it works! ] But I wish we had those ingredients readily available... I'd try to experiment with my cooking more. It's a really good way to pass the time!
