[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.

As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.

She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.

But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

( he's not used to voices in his head. he doesn't like it, finds himself frowning outwardly on occasion when the broad pings go out. he knows its something part of him finds fascinating, but being here isn't part of his life plan, and being here with Yuuri is...

Are there any size limitations with regards to this training?

[that makes him try to mull it over. there should be some kind of size restriction, probably, but he doesn't know exactly what that might be.]

As long as you're smaller than a house I think you're okay. Is size an issue?

... Usually I would say no, but at present, it may be. Including that bigger than a house. Any chance we're talking about a mansion?

( a note of amusement to his mental dialog; he's laughing at himself, if nothing else. )

I was thinking of a normal-sized house, actually.

[although what counts as normal could depend on the person, so that isn't much of a gauge to begin with]

But I'm a little curious about the size anyways. How'd you get bigger than a house?

How does any of the magic here work?

( there's a sigh in his mental voice. )

In my normal form, I'm more than respectable sized for any and all houses. We're practicing today, aren't we? Apparently my "gift" for being taken away from my world and having them lose something very important to me is that I turn into a giant silver dragon, for the lack of any better word. It's so much!

[at least he can console his friend that he's not the only one.]

If you're practicing then there's probably a way to change back to normal too, right? The whole point of training is to learn what you can and can't do.

Unless you'd rather not practice any of that, which I wouldn't blame you for.

Ah, less that I do or don't want to practice that; I'm being asked to work on verbal communication as a dragon, is all. Showing up in person for exercising on the rest is fine, just off task! Trying to coordinate as much as I can at once.

We're supposed to be training, so it can't hurt to test the limits, right?

Are you small enough to fit on the beach by the huts, or is there someplace I should come and meet you?

[there's no point in making him go somewhere that a dragon can't fit, after all]

I can make my way there. Even if there's not as much room on the beach, there's all this lovely sand where the waves break.

( close enough, right. RIGHT. he's been walking on the harder sand as it is, learning how to move in this very different body. )
