[WORLD ONE | DING DONG THE FISH IS DEAD]
Who: Coven members and the Palai
Where: Celebrating the Uvi going boom-boom
When: Day 67
Open/Closed: Open to All
OOC Note:

The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!
Where: Celebrating the Uvi going boom-boom
When: Day 67
Open/Closed: Open to All
OOC Note:

For decades, the Palai have had to deal with the threat of the Uvi invading their homes, killing their families and returning 30 days later. After the coven found their way to Aimintas, the Palai found that the threat wasn't so...threatening. After the last attack, with many more Palai lost as compared to previous Uvi instances, some Palai had lost hope. Now, after seeing their nemesis blown to bits and falling out of the ocean, their faith in safety is restored. While the Uvi are still committed (by and large) to learning more about barriers and other forms of safety, the time for focusing on serious things has passed. It will return, but tonight? They celebrate. Unlike their last, shrimpy festival, this party has a lot more going for it. The Palai have had time to process the events and prepare themselves for a grand celebration. The Palai know how to party, but you ain't seen nothin' like this.
B ▢ Despite the adults getting lit, there are obviously a lot of baby Palai on the lose. Responsible coven members who have their own babies will have the ability to let them run wild and play with their lizardy cousins. If you want to spend time with your baby, the nursery caretakers have platters of crackers with mushy foods adorning them -- these are essentially candy to a tiny Palai. They may also be tempted by other foods present at the festivities, but you can avoid them getting a tummy ache if you have a watchful eye. C ▢ Speaking of food, there certainly is a lot of it. There are large grills being heated by the newly found bone structures. These hold shrimp and fish, grilled vegetable skewers and other foods. Instead of the Palai doing the serving, the coven members and other Palai are instead encouraged to utilize their own raw ingredients (which includes several large sharks, dolphins, etc.) in whatever fashion they choose. It's essentially a "build-your-own-kabob" station with no limits. D ▢ Because the party is lasting on into the night, some Elto have decided to light the marketplace with some of the bone structures they found by powering them and inserting them into small cloth bags that they then magically levitate around. While they provide a powerful light source that can increase the party's longevity, they're also floating live wires. Bump into one of these and you'll get a nasty shock! This is doubly concerning since Palai babies are fascinated by following these floating "toys." E ▢ The Palai, feeling more familial and supportive of their ideals than ever, haven't let go of the whole family/romance pushing on the coven. Their newest attempt is a bit of a prank (probably due to high Palais) who have taken magic bone structures and tied thick strings to the spines that poke out of them. At the end of these strings are loops that they're quickly slipping around the wrists of coven members they find. You may find that you're suddenly magically connected to someone -- or two other people if you're lucky enough -- by a magical thread that's VERY hard to slip out of or break. F ▢ Wildcard Part 1: Other previous party prompts can also be considered here, from the rolls that make magic go haywire to the aged liquor that causes a bit more than a headache. G ▢ Wildcard Part 2: Any prompt you like! |

he turns toward her and nods in greeting upon spotting the familiar, if blindfolded face.]
No, the food at this stall is purely vegetarian in nature. No seafood whatsoever.
[he triple checked before grabbing anything. most other places had seafood; this small section didn't. thank whatever god exists for at least offering a vegetarian option.]
no subject
[She looks over at the stall curiously. Honestly, she doesn't really know what vegetarian exactly means, but given that there's nothing but plants here, she assumes that it means vegetables only. It... doesn't exactly sound appealing to her honestly. For all that she saw other androids trying out cooking and eating for the experience of it, she doesn't think she ever saw anyone eating just vegetables.
But it's not like she has any other options here when she doesn't know what fish is what. It won't hurt to try it, right?]
What do you recommend from here? [He'll have a better idea on what would be tasty than she ever would.]
no subject
I've only tried a few things so far, but I did enjoy both the spring rolls and the potatoes.
[granted, the flavor could stand to be improved upon. a little hot sauce and horse radish would do it all wonders. hmm, maybe some nutmeg, pickles and chili peppers in the eggrolls, too. oh and mint for a nice garnish! perhaps he can make some for himself later since that sounds delicious (in other words, a rock has a better sense of taste than flynn so please don't use him as a standard).]
no subject
But she gets a plate and puts one of each of those onto it. She's also assuming these are both hand foods?? Sure she's seen people use utensils here, but she doesn't even know the first thing about eating, so her hands seem to work well enough. Before she tries them though, she's reminded of something.]
Spring is one of the seasons, right? Is that where the name for spring rolls come from, or is it something else?
no subject
that is a question flynn never stopped to consider. spring rolls named after spring. it does make a certain amount of sense.]
It might be. I don't know the origin of it myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were created to celebrate some sort of spring festival.
no subject
Oh well. It's something to consider, if nothing else.]
A spring festival... Do humans celebrate with festivals like this often? [The Palai certainly seem to enjoy all the partying.]
no subject
[which, again, doesn't occur as frequently as here, but there are a decent number of them. most of them are fairly enjoyable and have a good selection of food, too. ah, all those tasty, meat-filled festival foods. how he misses those. vegetable dishes, though not bad and leagues above fishy ones, don't hit the spot nearly as well as meat ones.]
no subject
But while 2B is vaguely aware of what a "holiday" is and knows the definition of the term, she. Doesn't actually know what a holiday constitutes, so she's having a hard time picturing what a festival for one might be like.]
What are holidays?
no subject
[none of which occur as frequently as the constant parties here, either. no one parties as much as the palai do.]
no subject
[As best as she can, anyways. It's hard to imagine what "special days" they possibly could've had back home. Vaguely, she remembers 6O mentioning a holiday from the Old World involving giving brown things to people you liked, but that wasn't much of an explanation on anything.]
They sound nice. Do you intend to observe them away from home still?
no subject
[celebrating festivals was never something he did past attending a few of the bigger ones when he was younger. birthdays, however, are a different story. baking a cake and remembering a friend matter far more than celebrating some random holiday. maybe he also really enjoys the baking a cake part, too.]
no subject
... When's your birthday? [But they could celebrate his still, right? Even if the idea of birthdays is a little foreign to her too.]
no subject
[it's still a little while away and he has no plans to celebrate that. it's just his own birthday, nothing special. hmm, though the topic of birthdays does raise a very curious question.]
Do androids celebrate birthdays?
no subject
no subject
[since that could be fun for them both!]
no subject
[She doesn't really care about celebrating her own "birthday," but she thinks it might be nice to do for 9S. He'd probably enjoy it.]
