[OPENING] island hub - day 1
Who: All Characters
Where: Main Hub
When: Day 1
Open/Closed: Open to All

TDM threads can be considered canon if you so choose, they contain the power that you apped with and both parties confer that the thread is canon.
For characters that were on the TDM and who were not accepted/didn't app, these characters will be considered dropped characters that were magicked away.

Where: Main Hub
When: Day 1
Open/Closed: Open to All

Night has fallen upon everyone. It's thus far been an eventful day -- you've met some new people, discovered some new aspects of yourself that weren't there before you appeared here (however that might have happened). The original inhabitants of the island have been working hard to prepare a few things. One activity might have been one you were a part of, but there's still time to get your hands dirty.
Post feasting, there are dozens of crabs and a pile of roasted boar meet that are up for eating. Even if you didn't offer to help in making any of the food, they're open to eat it -- even if the true helpers may give you dirty looks. The boar is fine, if not a little bland and chewy, but it's probably better than the jerky. The crab is delicious, if not a little tasteless...there problem with the crab isn't exactly the taste, though.
This may also cause a bit of an issue with your character's powers. They're still getting physically and mentally acclimated to these new changes, so expect their telepathy and magic to go a little haywire. |

It's almost completely dark outside when the next event of the evening happens. You're living your life when you see it out of the corner of your eye -- it's absolutely hard to miss. What you see is a large lit caravan, larger than even an army tank. It's bright white and shining, covered with golden, ornate details that emanate an even more dazzling sparkle. The entire thing is aglow, and it's quickly coming towards the large bonfire that's been made. It's not rolling across the sand, but instead it's floating, and so is a matching trunk that's sailing along next to a figure beside the caravan.
There are two other thread options associated with this prompt: Genette's top level and her telepathy training post. Around the same time as Genette is handing out this new little goody bag, you suddenly receive a telepathic message. It might seem a little strange at first -- but on that note, what about tonight isn't strange?
After you've met Genette, she's also got a few more supplies that she pulls out a small door in the base of the caravan. She's insistent that you only get two items, since there aren't exactly a lot of them to go around!
|

As the night winds down, it's recommended by Brie that you should probably go to be in your hut -- or at the very least get somewhere inside. There are a lot of people around the camp, however, so it's no surprise that there are a few people waiting around to get their fill of food and supplies before heading to bed. The noise of the new members and the light of the fire have attracted a very large pack of boars, who you'll later find make routine trips to the beach every night. Boar mating season has made the wild hogs rather testy, and the smell of food -- even if it's their own boar brethren -- have made them even more volatile.
However, it's not like staying up at night doesn't have its advantages. Once midnight hits, another species of animal makes its regular rounds across the base camp. In the sky, characters can see an Aurora Borealis-like sight. Instead of being dancing green and blue lights, however, the reality is that they are a massive species of space worm, and hundreds are wiggling past on their way to travel back home. They're shimmering and in every color imaginable, lighting up the sky with their magnificent hues.

Rottytops takes a look over at all the food that was assembled and was starting to lick her lips. What's even better, she didn't have to actually go out and DO any of the gathering... well, aside from the crabs, but she had the feeling that somebody else was going to cover that job pretty easily.
But her eyes really stopped at attention at the sight of the boar. MMM. Now, after talking to that one dog-person, she really did start to get the hankering for some pork. And what's more, since everybody else seemed clueless of how to make it, Rotty found something that she could guarantee her part in the feast.
"Hey, if you're having trouble, I totally know how to roast that!" She mentioned aloud. "My brothers and I did it all the time while traveling in the caravan. Of course, I'm going to some strong folks to help me put it on a stick and rotate it." Her eyes look out to anybody that looks strong enough and asks. "Hey you! Think you can help us out? We can get this thing looking really nice by sundown if we get started right away!"
D -- Ping Pong Bizango
It takes her a few seconds, but after forming a few thoughts images that would probably just look like child's doodles of flowers and spiders, the zombie girl eventually gets the hang of it.
Hiya! Who is this?
E -- The Weird Horseshoe
Rottytops looks over at a few things, and while she is taken by all the jewelry and knicknacks (neat fashion accessories they are), the thing that really draws her interest is a black horse shoe. One tip of the horseshoe is covered with a red covering and the other side is covered in blue. Picking it up, the zombie girl immediately remembers on misadventure with the thing and decides that maybe it'd be a good idea to keep this away from others.
And she later found out it has a neat little trick of picking up anything metallic. So she might be going around trying to see what is and is not magnetized.
G -- Almost A Greeting
Quiet was always a little hard for Rottytops, and the quiet of this place was especially foreign. Were she in her caravan, she'd be hearing the rhythmic breathing of Abner and the loud snoring of Poe. The room also smelled different, with the foreign sea breeze only accentuating how bizarre everything was.
I wonder how they are. Rottytops thought to herself, running a hand through her hair. As she drew it away from her face, a flickering light, almost for an instant, twinkled through a small crack of a window. Curious, Rottytops stepped out and was greeted by the shimmering light of the space worms. She couldn't help but have a smile on her face. Without thinking she reached for the ledge of her roof and hopped on top of her house, dangling her feet over the edge and taking in the moment.
She grinned, momentarily forgetting everything how homesick she was for just this one moment.
"Hello to you too, world."
~~ E
Regardless of not getting a finger on it she is still going to make a comment because she has to in regards to its magical properties.]
Did you know a horseshoe is one of the most common and well known magical protection amulets out there~? [Well you do now!] They're found to be hung all over the world that I am from in hopes that it would protect the home and ward off evil spirits.
Is that what you're going to use it for~?
no subject
[Hearing her explanation, though, she lowers her guard and addresses Yuuko pleasantly.]
Hmm? Something like that! Where I'm from someone reversed the effect of this lucky charm and used its powers for evil.
Is that what you wanted to use it for? [She folded her arms, tucking the object underneath.] I could be persuaded to trade if you make it interesting~
no subject
Thank you for the offer. I only wanted to see if it was really made of iron. That makes it extra genuine. And besides. I don't have anything to trade. [Tempting as it is, she can't take anything from this table.] Maybe someday though~ I'll remember you have a lucky horseshoe hidden away. And I'll make sure you to have something extra interesting to trade for it.
But out of curiosity and for future reference what would you consider interesting? If you're someone like me you've probably seen it all~
no subject
[She hands over the horseshoe to Yuuko. Yept! It is indeed made out of iron.]
But for a really good trade, the thing I'm interested the most is...
Brains!!!
no subject
The suitable trade offer is... well alarming but not that alarming. She actually places her hands on her hips and glances upward, going over all the treasures she's collected in her time as a wish granting witch.]
I've never collected brains... Blood and bones and eyes. I've collected a lot of eyes. But I'll keep that in mind.
[She doesn't know where and how she'd go about finding a brain though. Finding another horseshoe would probably be easier. Oh well. It's an entertaining thought at the very least. Having a brain in a display case back at her old shop would be very cool though.]
no subject
I also could really use some coffee, if you had any.
[Go crazy and taper it down to normal, that was a Rottytops negotiation strategy.]

[ Someone hasn't figured out how to not share ALL his thoughts. ]
no subject
Huh, you're really honest with your feelings, aren't you?
[She's not 100% sure how these things work either, tbh.]
no subject
[ That almost sounds profound if he wasn't bright red, but she can't see that... so that's good. ]

[Its probably a good thing she can't tbh.]

[Somewhere in the middle, he realizes that it probably doesn't matter.]
Hibiki Kohaku. And you are...?
I have to admit that this should be a quite efficient way of communication if used properly.
no subject
Ooh no, that super long name is important to you and that's to important not to tease you on.
[Then, at normal speed.]
Hello Hibiki Koha-something of the really-long-and-important-sounding-title.
My name's Rottytops!
And yeah, this stuff kind of has a few good tricks in it, huh?
no subject
Of...of course it's important to me! Really though, calling me Hibiki Kohaku would be just fine. Or if that's too long, Hibiki will also work.
Rottytops? What an...original name, so to speak. I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. Speaking of tricks, do you happen to know how to start a conversation with one particular person of your choice?
no subject
[At least she shortened it?]
And no! What trick is that?
[She likes learning tricks, though getting tricked is most certainly not cool. But so far this person doesn't seem the type?
no subject
[At least he's not a disillusioned man.]
There must be a misunderstanding, I don't know one, I just hoped that maybe you do.
[And now he realizes that these telepathic conversations might be full of such misunderstandings.]
I can't imagine everyone, well, "talking" to each other like this during an important mission, so I figured that there must be a way to select a few people to communicate with them. I hope this makes any sense.
no subject
[Still she pauses and gives the matter some more thought.]
That's a really good idea though! I wonder if that's possible.
Oh, so are you saying that my thoughts might have been going everywhere? Do you think people know about your nickname? Oh I hope they do!

Lalli frowns, watching her from his own rooftop perch for a minute, then pushes himself to his feet and makes his way over, unfortunately having to take the ground route because he might be mostly leg, but he's still a shorter dude. Gonna stick down here for...a little while, even as he addresses her.]
...What are you?
[RUDE BOY]
no subject
[Maybe it was because it was late. Maybe it was because she had been so enraptured by the space worms that she was getting caught in the moment. Maybe it was the space dust that was starting to build on ROttytops, causing her skin to sparkle... but this time when she was asked that question for what may have been the tenth time that day Rottyops just smiles, barely turns her head in is direction and answers.]
I am a zombie and I am far from home.
no subject
[She's a zombie and she's far from home.
...he has no idea what a zombie is. Which is a little silly, since his world's apocalypse created zombies, but oh well. Far from home...]
Me too.
[Since they have that in common, and since the mist takes down a whole mess of trust issues with him to a minimum, Lalli crawls his way onto the roof to sit a few feet away from her.]
I don't like it here. But these weird things and their lights are okay...
no subject
[She smirks.] You're a zombie too? You seem a little too alive for that.
[Still, the effect of the worms are drawing down her guard, and she can't keep up with being snarky for too long. Instead, she draws her knees up to herself.]
So, what would you be doing right now if you were home?
no subject
No... Not a zombie.
[Too alive, though...? It's frankly upsetting how many supposedly dead people he's met here. Good thing he's high on space worm fartgas.]
...Looking for safe places. I guess.
no subject
[The calm was having a strange effect on her. She's being... honest and reflective.]
There are a lot of dangerous places. The crabs were bad, and the boars seem pretty prevalent. Unless you're really confident and better than you think, it'll probably be better to stay in town.
[She turned to look at him though. She has a feeling that he'd want to do it anyway, but maybe he'll surprise her.]
