For characters that were on the TDM and who were not accepted/didn't app, these characters will be considered dropped characters that were magicked away.

Night has fallen upon everyone. It's thus far been an eventful day -- you've met some new people, discovered some new aspects of yourself that weren't there before you appeared here (however that might have happened). The original inhabitants of the island have been working hard to prepare a few things. One activity might have been one you were a part of, but there's still time to get your hands dirty. A ▢ Brie has rolled out a large copper pot and created a pit on the beach. It's unrealistic to think everyone can subsist on the few foods she's collected from other words and boar jerky alone. She's got a few boar carcasses sitting on the beach that need attending to as well. Your characters can help feed themselves and others, and here's what needs to be done: Fire needs to be started for cooking the meat AND a large bonfire for light and warmth. The large copper bowl needs to be filled with water. Crabs need to be bravely collected from the bath house for boiling. The boar needs to be either cut up for kebabs or stuck through. Does your character know anything about spit-roasting? Any other helpful magical skills are welcome to help make food. Post feasting, there are dozens of crabs and a pile of roasted boar meet that are up for eating. Even if you didn't offer to help in making any of the food, they're open to eat it -- even if the true helpers may give you dirty looks. The boar is fine, if not a little bland and chewy, but it's probably better than the jerky. The crab is delicious, if not a little tasteless...there problem with the crab isn't exactly the taste, though. B ▢ The crab isn't a species that's immediately edible for most species, though your character will grow to get used to it eventually. For now, the meat isn't settling well within your character's system. Your character will experience sweats, a high fever, blurred vision, potential vomiting, hives...it's very obvious their body is rejecting the unfamiliar meat. This may also cause a bit of an issue with your character's powers. They're still getting physically and mentally acclimated to these new changes, so expect their telepathy and magic to go a little haywire.

It's almost completely dark outside when the next event of the evening happens. You're living your life when you see it out of the corner of your eye -- it's absolutely hard to miss. What you see is a large lit caravan, larger than even an army tank. It's bright white and shining, covered with golden, ornate details that emanate an even more dazzling sparkle. The entire thing is aglow, and it's quickly coming towards the large bonfire that's been made. It's not rolling across the sand, but instead it's floating, and so is a matching trunk that's sailing along next to a figure beside the caravan. C ▢ A tall, slender woman has also come along with the large caravan, quickly opening the trunk that eventually lands on the sand with a large thud. She's handing out sacks, very similar to the ones previously in the large lobster cage. These contain a parka, a type of candy of your choice, a bottle of water, a large shard from a broken mirror and a letter rolled up and bound with a roll of twine. There are two other thread options associated with this prompt: Genette's top level and her telepathy training post. Around the same time as Genette is handing out this new little goody bag, you suddenly receive a telepathic message. It might seem a little strange at first -- but on that note, what about tonight isn't strange? D ▢ The telepathic message your character will receive is a simple one: Hello. It shows up in text form across your character's line of vision and it doesn't go away until they respond back, though the message that's sent out won't go to the original telepath. Instead it will ping pong to a random person in the group. You've made a new friend! After you've met Genette, she's also got a few more supplies that she pulls out a small door in the base of the caravan. She's insistent that you only get two items, since there aren't exactly a lot of them to go around! E ▢ The last of the starter supplies are being handed out, and these are items that are more cumbersome or rare -- they may not be immediately useful for your character, but maybe you can make use of them somehow, whether eventually in another world or with your power. An electronic/technology: these can be as obvious as an MP3 player, as useless as a garage door motor or as scandalous as a Hitachi Magic Wand. If it can be powered by electricity or batteries, there's a tub of them. They're also partially charged if they don't need constant electricity to work. A fashion accessory: there are a lot of these, surprisingly. Flower crowns, belts, bras, shoes, earrings, other types of jewelry. Your character can look cute while suffering from crab vomiting. Books and stationary: maps of various worlds, books written in a myriad of languages (maybe even one you recognize!), writing paper, ink pens, gel pens, stickers. Any kind of stationary can be found here. Other household items: this can include cleaning supplies, furniture, and other miscellaneous goods. These won't be personal affects from your character's home, but they may be useful! Feel free to come up with unusual or alien items -- these have come from all over the universe, remember!

As the night winds down, it's recommended by Brie that you should probably go to be in your hut -- or at the very least get somewhere inside. There are a lot of people around the camp, however, so it's no surprise that there are a few people waiting around to get their fill of food and supplies before heading to bed. The noise of the new members and the light of the fire have attracted a very large pack of boars, who you'll later find make routine trips to the beach every night. Boar mating season has made the wild hogs rather testy, and the smell of food -- even if it's their own boar brethren -- have made them even more volatile. F ▢ If your character isn't quick to get inside tonight, they're likely to get a boar charging at them. The chances are doubled if they happen to be holding onto a food item. Female boars can leave a few bruises and trample you, but beware the males -- they've got tusks. However, it's not like staying up at night doesn't have its advantages. Once midnight hits, another species of animal makes its regular rounds across the base camp. In the sky, characters can see an Aurora Borealis-like sight. Instead of being dancing green and blue lights, however, the reality is that they are a massive species of space worm, and hundreds are wiggling past on their way to travel back home. They're shimmering and in every color imaginable, lighting up the sky with their magnificent hues. G ▢ The space worms operate outside the natural barrier of the hub, but they still are in close enough proximity to shed a film as they travel. If you're still awake, boars or no, you'll be in the middle of a shower. The film sheds from the worms and enters the atmosphere, creating multi-colored, sweet-smelling mists of worm water vapor. Worm water vapor is kind of weird, but it's also pretty cool. It's also calming, and that's a bonus. Inhale too much and you might become a little too calm.

[More than a little confused and worried, Yuuri accepts the task of looking for crabs, if only to give himself a distraction from the headache that's been steadily building at the back of his head since he arrived here. He wants answers more than anything right now, but there's no ignoring the pangs of hunger as the day's stress catches up to him.

Miserable and quiet, Yuuri manages to plunk two of the crabs into the bucket he'd grabbed before his luck finally runs out. As he reaches for the third, the crab makes its displeasure known and clamps its pincer down on Yuuri's fiinger.]

Ow! [Yuuri yelps, his cry echoing around the mostly empty bathhouse, and shakes the offending creature off. As he cradles his throbbing hand against his chest, the crab attempts to scuttle away, bumping right into the shoes of the nearest person.]

[Though Yuuri had managed to avoid the illness brought about by the crab meat, he's got another problem of his own to deal with. As more and more people gather around to eat, the stronger the prickling of something at his mind gets, until it becomes unbearable. The food in front of him barely touched, Yuuri curls into himself, biting back a whimper so he doesn't disturb the people around him. When the telepathic message arrives, he snaps back a response with a little more force than necessary.]

Not a good time!

[He'll probably feel bad about it later, but right now, he's in too much pain to be civil.]

[As the others examine the goods Genette's handing out, Yuuri sits a short distance away, pointedly keeping away from the crowd. The headache's receded just enough to allow him to move around, but he still looks a bit pale. The book sits in his lap as he lifts the hair pin up, the light from the caravan catching on its surfaces and making it glitter.

When he notices someone looking at him, Yuuri lowers his hand uncertainly, looking like he wants to say something.]

Um... [Even just that one word sounds tired, and somewhat reluctant.] I don't want to bother you, but. Do...do you have a second?

[Sometimes you got long, elaborate messages that are heartfelt and full of meaning. Other times you got messages which are useful and important. Stil-

This isn't one of those times.]

What? [Who's this guy. What is he going on about?] If you're talking about her giving us the letter, I agree, but we had to hear it sooner or later so I suppose it's for the best we got it over with.

[yokunaru]

[There's a pause before he gets a reply, as if Yuuri had been trying to get over a brief bout of surprise.]

What do you mean? I was just responding to the message you sent me.

[girasole]

Why would I send you a message? I was too busy trying to...

[Not glow. It will be a losing battle.]

...find something I lost - a ring. It's important. Do we even know each other?

[ well, dave at least responds in a soft tone? he tends to speak calmly and evenly and a little quieter than he might, monotone and drawling, so it should be easy on a headache. ]

I do. What's up?

[ ...his emotions might not be as easy, although he's generally in charge of them right now? ]

I...I'd noticed something had gone missing after I got here.

[From the way Yuuri's gaze slides away, it's clear he doesn't like having to ask for help like this. The item he's looking for is more important than his pride, though.]

I was wondering if you'd seen a ring somewhere in the area? It's a gold band. [He knows it's probably a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to ask anyway.]

No. I was missin' somethin' when I woke up, too, though.

[ his hands raise to his shades, and they're not his. he knows it. ]

None of my friends were missin' things, though. ...Not obvious things, at any rate.

[Haru is a gentle person, so Yuuri should have a much easier time dealing with her at the very least.

Her attention is grabbed when he starts speaking. But her expression is more concerned once he starts talking again.]

You aren't bothering me at all. Is there something I can help you with?

[She assumes that maybe he just needed someone to lend an ear...]

[With Haru's gentle personality, the discomfort his new empathic power had been causing him is eased somewhat as he subconsciously focuses on her instead of the group as a whole.]

I'm...looking for something of mine. I think I might have dropped it around here somewhere... [Even though he's already caught her attention, Yuuri still seems reluctant to completely get the words out.] It's, um. A gold ring. Have...have you seen anything like that around?

[mapsio]

A gold ring?

[She thinks about it for a moment, shaking her head.] No, I'm sorry. I haven't seen one of those. But if you want I could help you look for it?

[From the sound of it, she thinks it must be important.]

[Sorey is browsing through a stack of books in front of himself, clearly trying to make a determination on which one he'd like to pick, but he scoots them aside and moves closer.]

Sure. What's up?

[there's a bit of concern behind his smile; Yuuri looks paler than he should, even given the strange circumstances, but he keeps quiet and waits for Yuuri to speak.]

[yokunaru]

I..I just remembered, when I saw all the jewellery here. [Yuuri glances at the caravan's boxes of accessories that he'd halfheartedly picked through just now.]

I think I lost something when I got here. [Yuuri's eyes drop to his lap as he fiddles uncertainly with the book.] And I was thinking, since we've been all over this area since we got here, maybe someone saw it...

Oh. Hmm...

[he tries to think back to earlier in the day when everyone was picking their way down the mountain]

There was a lot of random stuff in the mansion, but I didn't see anything in the forest. I'm missing something too, but I don't think I dropped it at all. I thought it might just be back where I came from.

Well it's not like it was my fault! [He doesn't sound angry, but he's surprised and unfortunately he didn't get to avoid the crab meat.] Whatever it is, I mean. If you have a better idea, I would love to hear it.

[yokunaru]

[Fortunately, the reply confuses Yuuri enough that he's too surprised to really give this new person attitude...again.]

You were the one who talked to me first.

[...right?]

i don't think i did though? you were the one who started yelling first, i just responded. but i am starting to think that is normal for this place.

[ Of the options available, crab gathering seemed like one that might need a few more hands, so Mitsuki's also in the bathhouse, though he's having zero luck. He's just about to give up and head back to try his hand at the fire when a crab comes walking right up to him. It'd seem lucky if he hadn't just heard an exclamation of pain before that, so he ignores the crab in favor of its victim. ]

Are you all right?

[yokunaru]

Yeah... [Yuuri hisses, shaking out his hand as he replies. Then he scowls at the crab that's still by Mitsuki's feet.]

Couldn't avoid getting pinched by that one, that's all.

[otokogi]

[ Mitsuki looks between the person in front of him and the crab. The crab is a lot smaller than either of them, and yet... well, he wasn't here, he didn't see it, maybe the crab is really badass.

He pokes it with his toe just to see, and the crab attacks his shoe. ]

Hey! Knock it off! ... I can see where it'd give you trouble.

[ He blinks. ]

Not a good time? What's that mean? Ah, did this hit ya while yer in the bathroom or somethin'. I don't want to hear a person's thoughts through that, either...

[yokunaru]

[A mix of horror and mortification rushes through him, overwhelming any of his previous grumpiness and giving him a nice distraction from his pain.]

No!!! I'm not not feeling well. That's all I meant, not...what you said.

[ Sora hears that "ow" from outside, and as he comes in, he notices the crab bumping into his shoe. At least he's able to put two and two together here, looking down at it and then back up at Yuuri. And he speaks as he steps over the crab and over to where he is. ]

Hey, are you okay? Need any help in here?

[ With ... getting anything to help with the pain or help with picking up the crabs or ... anything, really. ]

[yokunaru]

I-I'm okay... [It's not the end of the world, but those pincers still hurt.] Can you just grab that one before it escapes?

[Not that there's a shortage of crabs around the bathhouse, but it almost feels like letting that one go would be letting it win. (It's not a competition, Yuuri...)]

Careful. [ giorno says easily. ] Here, try this.

[ he drops a hand towel on one - the bath house has plenty of them anyway - and then wraps them around the offending creature, holding it around and trying to drop it unceremoniously into his bucket. it takes him a few tries because it decides to cling to the towel instead of graciously falling into its doom, so giorno just knocks it down sharply with the back of his hand on the shell. and down it goes. ]

It'll still hurt if you get pinched, but not as much, and anyway you'll give them a distraction.

[yokunaru]

[Yuuri just looks relieved that someone had stepped in when he floundered.]

Ah, thank you. [Still shaking his finger out, Yuuri shuffles a few steps toward the wall to grab one of the towels from there for himself.] It's a good idea to use these. [Smiling ruefully, he eyes the crabs still scrambling inside the bucket.] At least it'll be easier to grab them this way.
