[OPENING] island hub - day 1
Who: All Characters
Where: Main Hub
When: Day 1
Open/Closed: Open to All

TDM threads can be considered canon if you so choose, they contain the power that you apped with and both parties confer that the thread is canon.
For characters that were on the TDM and who were not accepted/didn't app, these characters will be considered dropped characters that were magicked away.

Where: Main Hub
When: Day 1
Open/Closed: Open to All

Night has fallen upon everyone. It's thus far been an eventful day -- you've met some new people, discovered some new aspects of yourself that weren't there before you appeared here (however that might have happened). The original inhabitants of the island have been working hard to prepare a few things. One activity might have been one you were a part of, but there's still time to get your hands dirty.
Post feasting, there are dozens of crabs and a pile of roasted boar meet that are up for eating. Even if you didn't offer to help in making any of the food, they're open to eat it -- even if the true helpers may give you dirty looks. The boar is fine, if not a little bland and chewy, but it's probably better than the jerky. The crab is delicious, if not a little tasteless...there problem with the crab isn't exactly the taste, though.
This may also cause a bit of an issue with your character's powers. They're still getting physically and mentally acclimated to these new changes, so expect their telepathy and magic to go a little haywire. |

It's almost completely dark outside when the next event of the evening happens. You're living your life when you see it out of the corner of your eye -- it's absolutely hard to miss. What you see is a large lit caravan, larger than even an army tank. It's bright white and shining, covered with golden, ornate details that emanate an even more dazzling sparkle. The entire thing is aglow, and it's quickly coming towards the large bonfire that's been made. It's not rolling across the sand, but instead it's floating, and so is a matching trunk that's sailing along next to a figure beside the caravan.
There are two other thread options associated with this prompt: Genette's top level and her telepathy training post. Around the same time as Genette is handing out this new little goody bag, you suddenly receive a telepathic message. It might seem a little strange at first -- but on that note, what about tonight isn't strange?
After you've met Genette, she's also got a few more supplies that she pulls out a small door in the base of the caravan. She's insistent that you only get two items, since there aren't exactly a lot of them to go around!

As the night winds down, it's recommended by Brie that you should probably go to be in your hut -- or at the very least get somewhere inside. There are a lot of people around the camp, however, so it's no surprise that there are a few people waiting around to get their fill of food and supplies before heading to bed. The noise of the new members and the light of the fire have attracted a very large pack of boars, who you'll later find make routine trips to the beach every night. Boar mating season has made the wild hogs rather testy, and the smell of food -- even if it's their own boar brethren -- have made them even more volatile.
However, it's not like staying up at night doesn't have its advantages. Once midnight hits, another species of animal makes its regular rounds across the base camp. In the sky, characters can see an Aurora Borealis-like sight. Instead of being dancing green and blue lights, however, the reality is that they are a massive species of space worm, and hundreds are wiggling past on their way to travel back home. They're shimmering and in every color imaginable, lighting up the sky with their magnificent hues.

Also, if you want to use a different style [action] vs prose, I'll match you.]
A. Yang is used to doing heavy lifting and where some might have predicted she would light a fire, she actually decides to help by skewering boar. After all, stabbing things seems like it could be therapeutic right now. She mostly works in silence, though with her hair pulled back and sleeves rolled up, it might be noticeable that she has a strange yellow and black right arm. A closer look would reveal it to be mechanical in nature, even robotic if you are familiar with that sort of technology. She’s pretty focused on skewering boar but if she feels you starring at it she might toss one of the kebab sticks at your head, “Hey! It’s rude to stare you know.”
D. [Yang was riffling through her newly acquired goods when she notices the text in front of her face. Odd, but everything here is odd. She pokes it, though it’s in her head so there’s no effect. She frowns slightly.] Uhm…hi? Was that it?
E. Yang browses the items for a little longer than necessary. There’s a lot to sort through after all and while she’s impulsive she isn’t stupid. She wants to get something at least semi-useful. However, her curiosity does take her towards some of the less useful items, like the accessories. It happens by chance, but her hands brush over a pair of cat ears on a headband. If anyone is nearby they’ll notice her frown, pick them up, and then shove them into a crate. Out of sight, out of mind. She continues browsing like nothing happened, pulling up a lighter and flicking it with her left hand. This could be useful given her power.
F. It wasn’t a Grimm, but apparently normal boars could be just as vicious. Yang had plenty of experience fighting, though usually not without her trusty gauntlets. She heard the boar charging and managed to jump out of the way, rolling and popping back up in the sand a few feet away. The boar wasn’t quite as fast and was now heading straight for a stranger. “Watch out!” Yang shouted as a warning, though she was already chasing after the boar herself.
Wildcard - Feel free to come up with something else if you are burning to have a thread with Yang but none of these fit.

[God knows he needs one.
[The reason he is sneaking around is simpler. He doesn't want to be anywhere near the others. He doesn't want to be amongst the rest of the group. Around people, around their questions, around their business. He just wants to be alone. That's all he wants at this point. He wants to be alone, and while he appreciates her help here, he's not intending on sticking around after she is finished with the boar.]

Yang remembers she isn't completely defenseless and throws a fist. It isn't necessary for her powers, but old habits die hard. As she throws her fist a light comes out of her hand -- a small orb no bigger than a coin -- and flies towards the boar. It 'pops' against the boar's backside, a mini explosion, that diverts the boar with a loud squeal. The boar goes running off away from the people with a soar backside.
Yang comes to a stop, looking over to the other person.]
Well, at least I didn't have to wrestle it. You have some quick moves yourself.

no subject
Hey! Where are you going? Aren't you afraid you'll just find more of those boars?
no subject
"Hmmm? If I run into them, they won't be much trouble. Why? Are you volunteering to be my bodyguard?" [He could use one. Later, anyways, he didn't want one now.]
no subject
Well...if you need one. It just seems like a bad idea to go off by yourself in a place you know nothing about.
no subject
[Aka he's not completely opposed to the idea. Still, he phrases it as a yet and so a yes it becomes. Well, looks like any ideas of being alone tonight have been dashed.]
no subject
[Sorry. She can't be gotten rid of that easily, so she'll fall into pace next to him and keep an eye out for errant boars apparently.]

E
Wait, what were those?
[She may have been eager to stuff them in a crate, but he dug a hand in after them to retrieve them. But he seemed a little bit... perturbed by the time he got a good look at the ear-headband.
This raised quite a few questions, but one of them was especially pressing.]
...these ain't real, right?
no subject
No. It's just fabric and cotton glued to a headband.
no subject
[I mean, they'd have to take the place of one's actual ears....]
What are these for, anyway?
no subject
[Even she can see where that would be troubling for someone like him. She tries to think of how to explain the ears, though now she wishes she didn't have to.]
They're...an accessory I guess. Like you could use it as a part of a costume or something.
[Pause]
If it makes you feel any better they probably have some novelty human ears in the pile somewhere too...maybe.
[At least she hoped they'd be novelty items.]
no subject
[Though why would you want to dress up as-- well, then again, people from his world probably weren't the target market for this kinda thing.]
So it's gotta be from someplace where Humans and Felineko live together, right? I didn't even know that was a thing.
no subject
A felineko? You mean cats? I guess that could be the case...or...oh! Is a Felineko kinda like you, except with ears like that? [She gestures at the headband.] ...and I guess other cat-like features? Whiskers and tail maybe...
[She's not going to be able to avoid talking about her is she? Yang supposes she could just not say anything, but might as well share some information about her own world.]
We have some people who are like that...people who have an animal trait like ears or a tail. They're called Faunus though and usually it's just one animal trait...
no subject
Yeah! Like me, except with-- well, you said it best. S'what's normal where I come from. Caninu and Felineko living together. Humans... not so much anymore.
[...]
Don't think I've ever seen a Faunus, though. S'gotta look weird having just one part when the rest ain't there.
no subject
[Yang hadn't seen many nonhumans. She imagined that must be difficult to get used to, all things considered.]
Faunus might just be something from where I'm from...but I guess each world has its quirks.

D
It's random. Who you're talking to.
no subject
Oh! That's...weird, I guess. I'm Yang, what's your name?
no subject
It's weird. But I guess we meet more people this way.
no subject
no subject
But I think this is weirder than that.
What about you?
no subject
Yeah, I'd say this ranks as pretty weird for me. I mean my life was always pretty exciting, but never something I'd say as very weird.
no subject
What did you do back home?
