[There's a small crowd gathering at the edge of the city today. You may have been asked here by Jay or someone else, or gotten a telepathic message--or maybe you just came out to see what all the fuss was about. Either way, if you listen in it soon becomes obvious that members of the coven are heading up to the island above to check it out, and maybe do something about that pesky barrier in the way, too.

There are a couple dragons among the crowd--although you may or may not be able to see one of them--and what looks like a small submarine. Jay is wandering among these, seemingly checking that everything is in order and everyone who's supposed to be there is.]

That's really neat! It's been weird to not see anyone with anything like bows and arrows around. Any kind of projectile is something, at least!

[he gestures for Madoka to climb inside the submarine. there are probably some kinds of seats and handholds in there, like a bizarre bus... Geir's huge eye peers in worriedly through the doorway.]

Is it okay? Are you all right with small spaces?

[it's not THAT small, but to Geir, it must look like it.]

I do have a bow and arrow, actually ... it's my main weapon.

[she says as she climbs right on into the submarine, and sort of. squishes herself in a corner. it is cramped, but luckily, Madoka is Tiny.]

It's not bad in here at all! Besides, it's not like I'll be in here on a long trip or anything.

Oh! That helps a lot. I know the Palai have slings, but those are harder to use. Maybe you can show them a few tips!

[he laughs at Madoka's squishing herself in. more people probably need to get into the submarine, now; Geir takes a firmer grip on it.]

Haha, you know for sure that it'll be less bumpy than riding in my mouth would be.

No, when I got here was the first time! We needed to go through the ocean and Vern didn't have a way to hold his breath that long.

Vern was okay, but I don't think most people would like it.

No, ah ... That doesn't sound very comfortable at all, to be honest.

[certainly less comfortable than this submarine — but nobody will ever hear Madoka complain, if she is uncomfortable at all.]

But, you seem pretty nice! I don't think you'd actually hurt anybody that way.

[the dragon ducks his head, clearly pleased and embarrassed. being told that he's nice is a high compliment, since he's not trying particularly hard to be friendly.]

Thanks... of course, I wouldn't hurt anyone unless I wanted to.

[that's a more ominous sentiment than Geir probably realizes, if one is looking at it from the perspective of a human who Geir might decide he wants to hurt -- but he doesn't seem likely to change his mind all of a sudden, so maybe it's okay. for now, he blinks and eyes her sidelong, a bit bashful.]
