Open/Closed: Open. We're rolling threadjacking (assuming the people involved are okay with this: double check with them) mingle log style. Because I'm not going to organize a 6+ person thread otherwise. Because no. So pretty much there's a bunch of scenery porn here, and then go top level with whatever you want.

[Behold Jamahz Grounds. It's large. It's scenic. It's conveniently located. A bunch of coven members are there, perhaps because they realized that there's safety in numbers...more specifically in multiples of three.

And it wasn't a bad park. At the moment there was a theater group that was putting on a production of Waiting for Poldot, which consisted of an Alias and a Lynas waiting for their Eltos buddy who was apparently running late. Besides that, the sun was shining, if there were birds they'd be singing...overall a pretty nice day.

The lead actor of Waiting for Poldot was just talking about maybe going to get a cookie (the central conflict of this: do they wait or do they get a cookie and come back) when he was nearly hit by a decapitated shark that slammed into the ground and lay there twitching.]

...perhaps the shark is Poldot?

[No, not really, but that's the first thing that came to mind. Because he ain't going anywhere near that clusterfuck developing over there.] It's a twist ending; we thought he was a Palai. He was a shark all along.

I think it kinda defeats their idea of unity. Maybe it's a protest piece?

[Look! Palai culture is complicated! It's not like any of the Palai walked up to go, "Hey, this isn't supposed to happen. Could you help us clean up?" Look at the Alias lead actor. Look at him. He's taking a deep breath, and, in the spirit of acting is trying to improvise a monologue because the show must go on. The monologue is comparing the shark to the cookie.]

It could be experimental. One of us could have given them the idea.

In terms of protest pieces it's like effective in one direction but not lasting maybe?

As lasting as the dead carcass, maybe.

[ wow? either way, akira shakes his head and kind of just cocks his head to the side, arms folding to his chest watching the actors. this must be part of the act? maybe the whole piece of improv? ]

Still, a shark isn't anything like a cookie. It's not really edible. 2/10.

Give him some credit. He was given a script...maybe. [...] Probably not. But look at that passion! [...] I...think it's passion, at least. It might be intense confusion. I really don't know what it is anymore, but, given the play up until now I'm considering that a blessing.

[The lady is taking some deep breaths- and apparently agrees with everyone because she's questioning how a shark is like a cookie. Suddenly: conflict.]

I'll admit that conflict doesn't seem to really gel with their society. I don't know if I mind? [ kind of nice to hang with people who don't have bigger problems than who ate the lettuce, honestly...even if it isn't quite the truth. ] But I'm with the dude on this one, technically a shark head is edible and therefore like a cookie like that? It just wouldn't taste great. Which ain't a requirement for bein' edible.

[actus]

I guess. [ akira isn't convinced. he doesn't exactly eat seafood in the first place (besides sushi) so he can't really speak to the deliciousness of a shark. ] But what does that mean for the play? If the reason they were going to leave is the cookie, and the shark is the cookie, then won't they just be waiting forever?

[girasole]

It could be a way of...I don't know. Maybe it's to have them actually confront the fact that their friend is late? After all, you could argue that the cookie was an excuse: the real conflict is...was if they were waiting for their friend [...maybe.] any longer or leaving.

[...] I say was because I think they're just arguing about if a shark is a cookie or not. Are we sure somebody doesn't have the ability to summon seafood and just didn't tell the rest of us?

I mean, Lenka summons fridges so we can't rule it out. Hey, maybe he summoned a fridge up in the sky with, uh, the rest of the shark? I mean I GUESS there are more logical if disturbin' answers but they are just so much less fun?

[He's on the cusp of noting those logical if but disturbing answers and actually saying what they are, then decides that he doesn't actually want to talk about it - it's such a nice day - and speaking of powers people haven't heard about...]

Can you? [Is he getting the implication right?] You're telling me you can draw a cookie right now and throw it onto the stage?

Yeah? S'my power. [ he pulls a pen out of his pocket. his friends helped him make it, and he clicks down one of the colors and - yep. light drawing in the air out of the tip. ] I think I'm best at drawin' chocolate chip so far...

[ SO. HE WILL DRAW A FEW TO TOSS AT THE ACTORS? HELPFULLY?

and will offer some to the others to throw.

it doesn't take dave long to draw the (...lumpy) cookies, and when he closes the lines, they simply appear. neat! ]

[ this is far better than throwing eggs on stage. this is delicious and relevant! ]

Ah... these look better than the last batch.

[ it's a compliment he promises! he happily takes one and nods at the crew. on your mark, he'll be ready for synchronized cookie-tossing. ]

I'd ask...but I can tell I'd probably be happier not knowing. Three-

[And that was when a decapitated...what appeared to be a tuna hit the shark. (A betta also landed on the shark, but, being tiny, was easily ignored in the sudden chaos.) There was more surprised screaming from the lead actress, after which she gave up and promptly fainted atop the shark. The tuna rolled to the side and plopped to the ground. A number of Palai started looking skyward, surprised and startled-]

...can you draw umbrellas?

[Suddenly seems like a good idea.]

Holy shit. [ not special effects at all, then, unless they were seriously missing a bunch of palai up high holding buckets of fish guts to throw down at them like confetti. ] Yeah, I, gimme a sec -

[ and he'll start sketching midair, much more haphazardly than he had drawn the cookies, but maybe how nice the umbrellas look matters less than having a thing to hold overhead?? ]
