How did you get into this building? This apartment room? What the fuck is going on? Let's refer back to this page for a semi in-depth, wow so detailed, explanation of your current situation. You'll also have a letter slipped under your door with some explanation about your whole coven situation, as well as info that explains you have magic now! And yet what kind of magic is conveniently left out. Are you up to speed? Great. Now, here's the question of the hour: what are you going to do about all this? A ▢ If you're the sensible sort and want to explore your new digs before slinking around Shehui, you're in luck! You've got easy access to your apartment, and it's luckily not on lockdown right now. Feel free to check out your room, raid the fridge -- oh, and saying hello to your roommates should also be on your to-do list. B ▢ Let's say that hanging out with these people is a little overwhelming...that's fine! There are plenty of things to do in the apartment building without interacting with roomies! There are vending machines to prop up, a leisure floor that contains a totally vacant air hockey table and a nice garden to relax in. C ▢ But ah, there's also venturing outside! Out front is the job board, which is a nice place to hit up if you're looking to add to your currently fat but depleting credit account. The problem is that the jobs are currently disappearing quickly, and those around you aren't giving you such nice looks. This apartment building is a known problem area at this point, and your signet doesn't do anything to settle their fears.

D ▢ With new year's week coming to an end, the residents of Shehui are feeling more celebratory than somber now. A lot of businesses are closed in order to enjoy themselves and ring in the new year the right way. A lot of restaurants and bars are currently offering specials, from free drinks to cheap food in order to pull in the holiday crowd. If you're looking to meet people and socialize in Shehui, this is the best way to do it. E ▢ Also because it's the post holiday season, stores are trying to push out the rest of their overstock merch. One item of note that's being peddled quite often is a cell phone. From tiny flip phones to the latest Orange product, cellphones are a necessity in this modern society. Get yours right now and begin texting right away! There are a few social apps that are installed, so you might be lucky enough to connect with another coven member! They also have Redmolar capability, which will automatically allow you to text those with phones in the area. Maybe send some mysterious stranger texts? F ▢ While you're hustling around Shehui, you may realize that the telepathic messages get stronger -- perhaps the new coven members are near? In general, you may be subject to telepathic messages about current Shehui goings on, random thoughts or requests to meet up at so-and-so location. A.K.A. let's utilize that telepathy...it may not last forever! G ▢ Because the week of remembrance is still going on, flowers are littering the streets, though most of them are dead. Bunches of flowers are being sold, and flower fortunes are a popular activity during this part of the holiday. There are fortune tellers on the street who will give you your flower of the year, but it's more fun to have them read with one another! There are digital cards that you can buy that will allow you to read fortunes on the go -- simply tap the screen of the card and your flower will be decided. Not happy with your choice? Too bad! It won't randomize to something different, no matter how hard you try. H ▢ While a lot of Shehui citizens are trying to avoid the coven members like the plague, a small alien child isn't so much concerned with who helps her, just as long as someone does. She accidentally left her house's door open and her five new kittens are suddenly missing! Where are they? Who knows! But she'd certainly like some help looking for them. I ▢ As the day winds down, snow falls on Shehui for the last time this season. The government is getting rid of their supplies that create the festive weather. This is old hat for older coven members, but for newbies? You better enjoy the snow while you can. After an hour or so, it piles up enough to truly be utilized for merriment...this also means that it's pretty easy to get snowed in if you happen to be in a building during the snow fall, which also creates some interactive opportunities. J ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world?

[ Now, this was all new even for Siegfried, but practicality called for the need to purchase items of necessity. So he was taking in his surroundings, and then it seems they've collided with each other.

At the other male's rambling, Siegfried could only crack a bit of a smile. He's not even been here for that long and already he's met someone who reminds him of someone he knows. ]

You can call me Siegfried. Well, it's certainly quite a lot to take in -- they don't even have 'phones' where I come from.

[Ohhh!! Keiichi knew that there were people from not-modern, not-Earth worlds here, but it's so exciting to hear about! Even though if in this case it's probably made it pretty confusing for this guy Siegfried.]

Oh! Really?! Yeah, that must really be a lot to adjust to! We have them where I'm from but they're a lot smaller and not as cool. Oh! But it's nice to meet you, Siegfried-san! Did you just get here as well? I hope you don't mind me saying, but if you need help with any of the technology stuff I can try! We're all sort of a team as long as we're here, right?

I have, and judging from what you said just a bit earlier, we seem to be in the same boat regarding our status as new arrivals.

[ He confirms with a gentle tone, and with the offer of assistance, he doesn't give it a second thought. ]

It'd be best if we did work together, and I would appreciate the help. I'm sure I could acclimate to it sooner than later, so there's no need to worry about a slow learning curve on my part.

[Yay, he accepted! Keiichi likes to help people, but since he's new himself and this guy is older, he didn't know if it would be presumptuous-- but Siegfried seems so nice!!]

Yeah, I just got here myself! Then, feel free to ask me if you have any questions about that kind of thing! I might not know myself since some of it's new for me too, but I might have an easier time figuring things out since I'm at least kind of familiar. How are you feeling getting settled in? It's a lot, huh?

[ Knowing more about how certainly things worked would help him with learning more. Who was he to refuse when it went towards something like that? ]

[ Though, before he asks anything, he'll move onto the other man's question. ]

Well, it is 'a lot', but I don't think it'll be too difficult to get used to it. I imagine there are others who are actually overwhelmed with all of this. I'd also ask you how you feel about settling in, but... you seem to be eager to do just that. Or am I wrong?

No, you're right! I'd like to get oriented so I can get involved as fast as possible! It seems like we've been brought here for a reason, so--! I want to do what I can!

Hmm, I see. Well, that's not a bad thing.

[ Though, speaking of them being brought to new lands and such, he is a tad curious about something. ]

What do you think of this city's residents so far?

[ ... As in, not any of the new ones -- rather the ones who came before their arrival. He is curious to know the other man's experiences with them, even if they had just came. ]

Oh! The people that live here for real? I guess things are a little complicated with our group right now because it doesn't seem like they're feeling very friendly towards us, but! I think it'll be okay! There's still jobs open to us and everything, so it can't be that bad!

[So, not completely oblivious, but still pretty optimistic about the coven's reception in Shehui.]

And, for other people in the coven, everyone I've met so far has been really helpful and nice! I think it'll be a good group to keep going through this whole thing with! I'm excited to meet even more of us!

[ Siegfried's glad that's the case -- it wouldn't be good to be totally oblivious anywhere one goes. As for that optimism, well...at least Keiichiro wasn't proclaiming he was going to be everyone's friend or something. ]

I admit I haven't exactly gotten a good chance to meet everyone else, and I'm sure to run into them soon enough. I don't know exactly how many coven members there are, but I imagine there are a good amount.

[ Though it won't be everyone...and he wonders what are the chances there are of meeting someone he knows. ]

... Have you met anyone you recognize so far?

[Keiichi seems surprised almost to the point of being taken aback at that question, weirdly, and his response is more on the side of thoughtful than enthusiastic, but his ever-present smile doesn't drop away]

Oh! No... What are the chances, right? Though maybe we do get taken in groups? But no, I haven't met anyone that I've known! I didn't even think about how that might happen, I guess just because it seems so surreal to happen at all! I guess you haven't, either?

[sigfried]

[ Well, no one can blame him for it -- he figured it could be a surprising question. ]

I only just considered it now.

[ For people to arrive with those they know -- or find anyone here they knew. Even if he says this, however, he's sure there are some who have thought of it as well. Whether or not it's worked out that way for other coven members is another thing entirely. ]

I haven't, no. Well, even with our situation of 'spirited away from home to here' being pretty unique already, I figured it couldn't have hurt to ask.

Yeah! I'm really not sure what to think about it... I'd like to see people from home again, obviously, and at least right now I think people would probably mostly like to get away from home for a while, but-- I mean, we did sort of get snatched away, and we don't know how long it's going to be... I can't really wish for people to show up, in that case! But I guess we don't really know at all how we're chosen to come here, huh? Maybe I'll have to ask some of the older people about that... Even if we can't really do anything with the information, it would be interesting to know, right? Whether it was random or not!

[Keiichi... might be the sort of person that likes to work through things by talking about them out loud. He doesn't seem to notice that he over-shared about the state of his own world a little, though, glossing over that toward the thought about how they were chosen to be members of the coven.]

[ Siegfried couldn't help but smile a little at that. He doesn't seem to mind that the other man has. ]

Well, if you did wish for your friends to show up, I wouldn't blame you. Not too much, anyway. It's only natural to want to be with someone you know in a place foreign to you.

[ There is admittedly a tad bit teasing there. But not mean-spirited at all; a tiny spark of lightheartedness in the midst of all this unfamiliarity. ]

And while we're asking those questions, it could be good to see if there are any other coven members who know more about this city.
