[SNITCH SQUAD TWO: ELECTRIC BOMBGALOO]
Who: Anyone interested in the Snitch Squad
Where: The Leisure Floor of the apartment building
When: Day 183
Open/Closed: OTA
[ For those unaware, Genette is stuck in a 2nd Floor apartment in the same building as the rest of the coven. Where is Brie? On that same floor, but right now she's probably at a convenience store. Her "go with the flow" ass isn't necessary right now.
Every apartment has received a flier slipped under their door that contains a drawing of their signet, signifying the message is meant for them. It also contains instructions to meet in one of the private game rooms on the leisure floor of the apartment building.
Don't worry about unsavoury guests entering out of curiosity -- Genette can become pretty stern when it comes to shooing people away.
Even though the room contains a pool table and numerous dartboards, this is certainly a place of stern discussion and business! There's a lot to attend to, and things have been happening rather quickly, lately.
OOC: Snitch Squad members are free to thread hop or happen upon conversations -- please be aware of this when you come into this post. It's a conversation about opinions and ideas, so expect threads to be messier. ]

[ jun got the flier after all, and more or less gets the idea of it. still, it's worth asking the room not just for himself but others as well. it seems there's a lot of history here, and a fuller explanation of the squad and its connection with Qri would be much appreciated either way. ]

It's not much, but so far most of us here have felt we can't just wait around and see what the people of Shehui will do. The general consensus on how we should proceed is mixed. That about covers it, I think?
[He looks around for confirmation. If anyone plans to speak up, now is the time.]

[ he prompts for Shiro's name. It's only polite! ]

I'm Jun by the way.
( GENETTE'S IDEAS )
Based on the last meeting, I know that there are more people than just me who want to know more about this place. Their history isn't of much importance to me unless we can tie it to locations and information.
This recent "bombing" was certainly suspicious -- but my first thought is that if it wasn't just a mishap with some fireworks, who actually caused it and where? It obviously wasn't somewhere visible...but then could it be that a Shehui official themselves made a mistake, or someone else looking to cause unrest. If it was Qri herself, I feel like we'd know somehow...I would know...
I'm also of two minds about drawing attention to ourselves. I think we should begin to reveal more of our magic -- not a lot! Just enough that suspicion is put upon a few of us for now. If anyone has magic that might be useful for this, your volunteering would be helpful.
It may also help us in other ways. If we get enough monitors to guard our area, this leaves other areas less defended...they don't seem to hire monitors willy-nilly, so there has to be a finite number. When they aren't all over the city, we have more opportunity to investigate buildings and other locations in order to locate a base of operations.
...Do you have any thoughts?

I was formerly employed at the hospital — I can demonstrate my abilities on a patient there. Given that it's an institution operated underneath the government, it'll attract their attention without fail.

But, that seems a good context. Both attention-grabbing and explicitly not hostile.
[ If their demonstrations were not only harmless, but helpful, communication might have a more favorable start. ]

It sounds like you have people willing to help out, but I'm new here and not really invested in all this, and you might have trouble convincing some other members of the coven to go along with that plan too. It's a little too dangerous for the supposed benefits. It would also leave a bad taste and bad morale to ask a single person to take all that on.
Objectively, I think it's a better idea to investigate who caused the bombings first and try to catch their specific attention. Maybe there was meaning behind it happening at that specific festival? And if we get someone employed into the local government somehow, we could find out who was on duty that day and question them?
A more extreme option would be that we could even set off our own bomb—in a safe place and without magic—and leave a coded message of some kind with clues of who to track down. While it'd also attract attention of authorities, no doubt any dissenters would be trying to find us too and could shelter us. It's also less likely to get certain people in trouble or ask them to volunteer taking on a lot of risk.
no subject
I like the second option.
[Probably because Okuni is just chaos incarnate, but mostly because she's always been the type who favors extreme plans with high risk.]
Investigating the first bombing or making a magical spectacle of yourself are both fine -- I'm sure we can leave that to other people -- but in the meantime, I think throwing out bait will get us more results. The coded clues could lead to a number of us instead of just one... Though we'd have to determine how easy or hard we should make them. The real culprits could be just as stupid as the authorities in charge.
[Okuni is a good hand at leaving messages for people, but it's a different problem when you don't know who's going to get them... This would be easier with Baren, she thinks, but lets that thought go quickly.]
And speaking of the bomb, I know of a way to make one without any magic. I'll need lots of gunpowder though.
[maybe someone else could volunteer a better idea than MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF GUNPOWDER]

A manual bomb would work... but we don't want something that'd destroy any messages we might have either.
no subject
[PROBLEM SOLVED or something, Okuni is equally okay with the bomb idea. someone stop them]
( DISCOVERED SOLUTIONS )
( BONUS: FILTERED AWAY FROM GENETTE )
Listen. I know Genette is all up her own ass about going after these Shehui people, but listen --
if you draw too much attention to yourself, you may end up getting tossed into some toxic wasteland. I'm not going out there to save your ass either.
Until we know for sure what happens to people who disobey or whatever, your best bet is probably laying low. Don't let her sudden willingness to buck the system get you too excited. Stay grounded and think before you jump into any plan of hers.
Also, take this grain of advice: wherever you get dumped, they probably don't have Jumbo Marshmallows and that sucks bigtime donkey dick.

Besides, the point about the marshmellows really hits home.

"Until we know for sure what happens."
Unfortunately, as our direct inquiries were less than helpful to that end, learning that with any certainty might require a sacrifice. Though I don't disagree with the need for caution.
