[It's tough to live on an island that doesn't have many resources outside of the limited food sources and running streams. While Brie is aware of some other minor sources of food, like fish and frogs, one person exploring an island on their own means there are a lot of secret spots left to uncover. Despite adventuring for three years, her time on the hub itself has been much shorter, only staying for days or weeks at a time. Now that there are more people on this journey, covering ground is a lot easier.

Recently she's discovered another large estate -- much larger than her current shared mansion, which might also mean it has some supplies inside. On the morning of Day #, she's called together those who are hankering for more supplies in order to bring as much back as possible. Congrats, you get first dibs.

A. Upon approaching the house, the first thing that's noticeable is its size. It's all one story, but very flat and spacious. There are gardens in both the front and the rear, and upon entering (Brie might have enlisted you to help break the door down, oops) the inside is also quite vast. There are tons of rooms, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, two kitchens and other rooms that aren't even explorable because they need keys to be entered. Unless you can find these keys, that is?

B. Alternatively, or maybe even aside from exploring the house, Brie's also suggested that you do some exploring on your own. Again, she's one woman with limited time to scout the island herself. What can you find? What resources are there to be harvested? Will you share in this bounty, or keep it to yourself?]

It didn't have numbers, either?

[ he frowns. that's problematic, but also tends to lend to the theory that they are far, far from home. ]

[rebells]

I didn't see any on the packages.

[actus]

Weird.

[ he pokes his head into another one of the boxes and finds another puzzle piece, squinting at it just a bit. ]

Someone must have liked puzzles.

[rebells]

Apparently.

[He sticks a hand in one of the other boxes and pulls out a sheet set.]

This is all very domestic.

[actus]

Yeah. I mean ... we're in a house.

[ akira can't help the grin that plays at his lips. ]

[rebells]

Some homes are more domestic than others. But I take your point.

I'm Jay, by the way. A pleasure to meet you.

[actus]

Akira. You too.

[ he peers at the storage room again, slightly defeated. ]

Do you know when you're projecting? [ okay, guess they're back on that. ]

[rebells]

[He makes a face--someone really doesn't like this line of conversation.]

I have to be touching the person.

[actus]

That's good. At least you have some kind of heads-up.

[ mental note: don't touch this guy without his permission. it feels kind of invasive. ]

[rebells]

That's about the only thing good about it, yes.

[actus]

At least your hands don't catch on fire. It's kind of awkward when you forget about it and accidentally tell a joke.

[rebells]

[Okay, that gets a laugh.]

Maybe that's a sign you should be telling fewer jokes.

[actus]

Probably.

[ he laughs, too. ]

Old habits die hard, I guess.

[rebells]

Oh? Are you a jester as well as a phantom thief?

[actus]

You've discovered my deep, dark secret.

[rebells]

Oh, dear.

Well. [With a smile:] I've been told I'm good at that.

[actus]

Is it your job?

[rebells]

[Well, not anymore, which is the thing.]

To find out people's secrets? In a manner of speaking.

[actus]

So a spy. That's cool.

[ super secret spy? ]

[rebells]

I enjoyed it.

[But his expression has taken on an oddly fixed cast.]

[actus]

Did you stop?

[rebells]

I came here, didn't I?

[actus]

Right. I wouldn't say that's stopping, though. It's not by choice. Just because you're here doesn't change who you are.

[ .... a beat. ]

...Though I guess if the person you're spying on isn't here, there's not really a point.

[rebells]

I spied on everyone. Information in general was my business.

[He doesn't know why he keeps talking about this. It's painful to think about, considering how thoroughly he torched that life of his before he came to this place. But maybe part of him wants to remember. He hadn't been lying: he had enjoyed information-gathering, the excitement of finding things out, feeling yourself at the linchpin of complicated geopolitical machinations. He's been doing some of that trying to unravel this situation with Qri, but it's not the same.

. . . he misses the Legacy. But there's no point in thinking about that now.]

The situation here, however, is different. We're all comrades of a sort, facing some fairly difficult circumstances . . . so a different approach is necessary.

[actus]

So you don't feel the need to spy on us.

[ akira concludes, a grin appearing as he peeks over from one of the boxes he is still going through. it's all junk and packing material, but he's so determined. ]
