[So you may have gotten a telepathic message a few days ago about an expedition to map the coastline . . . or maybe you were invited along by a friend. Whatever the reason, it's bright and early this morning, and it's time to set out!

Characters would have gotten a further telepathic message from Jay with a date and time to meet outside the shacks. They'll be heading east along the "shore," tracking the coast, and then heading directly back towards base camp . . . who knows what they'll find along the way?]

[ Dave is equipped with infinite tools to make this possible, so Minato can't understand why he would stand there debating with himself instead of just swimming off into the sea like Minato would done without hesitation if that's what his curiosity dictates.

If not Dave, Minato's always willing, so here goes. ]

[ look...dave simply will not be going out there or at least not ditching his clothes? maybe he will swim fully clothed. that can occur?? but he pulls out a red pen, raising an eyebrow at minato.

[ They don't have to swim, and they don't have to swim off the edge either, just go far enough to peek over the edge and haul themselves back with the rope. ]

[ he looks enlightened as soon as minato says "anchor", nodding. ]

It may not be the best boat but I can do one big enough for two.

[ he clicks the end of the pen. the tip glows with light. it's one of the combination items made with rose and john, a pen that...writes in light. the light won't stay forever but he doesn't need it to in order to complete a drawing.

this will take dave several minutes to do all of the requests, and the result is

[ PROBABLY seaworthy is good enough; hopefully Dave can draw fast enough to patches for the boat if needed. Minato tries not to look too hard at the boat as he ties it to the anchor that's left on the shore, and starts shoving it off into the water. Most of the boat is submerged once they get into it, so... this is fine. He doesn't have to look at it, he just needs to keep his eye on the horizon.

He's also never rowed a boat in his life, so it's slow, slow going. ]

[ dave is more useful at rowing probably? he's not as brute strength as some other people, but he's used to swinging a sword around daily and is more or less at least athletically built, even if it's more lean runner than MUSCLE BUILDER.

but also he has never rowed either so it takes him a few minutes to figure it out...alas. ]

D'you see any fish in here?

[ Minato finds a wonky crook at the side of the boat to lean out against to see. The boat gets a little off course since he's not rowing his side, but he needs to water to be still in order to see into it. ]

No. Maybe they're down deeper. Think we should try fishing while we're out here?

[ They can drag a net behind them and go even slower than they are now. ]

We may as well? Although after the crab fiasco, I'm not sure I trust the seafood.

[ That's... yeah. That's fine, Minato thinks as he watches the net get cast out behind the boat, because holes that large will cause less drag, and if they do catch something, at least it'll be a big one. ]

...You can't draw draw fish, can you? And bring them to life?

[ Like how Minato can't transform living things, and how John will later tell him he can't combine them either. ]

I...genuinely don't know? I feel like even if that were possible it would be incredibly cruel.
