[So you may have gotten a telepathic message a few days ago about an expedition to map the coastline . . . or maybe you were invited along by a friend. Whatever the reason, it's bright and early this morning, and it's time to set out!

Characters would have gotten a further telepathic message from Jay with a date and time to meet outside the shacks. They'll be heading east along the "shore," tracking the coast, and then heading directly back towards base camp . . . who knows what they'll find along the way?]

The point of all this was so they wouldn't fall, Dave. Minato hangs onto the edge of the boat as it tilts over the edge and the floor beneath his feet becomes a vertical drop as they fall... fall... ]

[ How long are they going to fall for and how are they supposed to reel themselves in? maybe they should just jump ]

I dunno, fifty feet or so? enough to reach the ocean floor.

...Minato hauls himself up so he's sitting on top of the back end of the boat and looks out into the black nothingness of space. The water seems to fall on forever, fading into mist. ]

Can you draw a working camera?

Minato hasn't had as much practice with mental video streaming (aka none at all), but concept-wise, he understands how to do it. The water and the space surrounding them is too large a scale to concentrate on all at once, so he starts with something narrower in scope: Dave's face for all to see.

What's it like seeing your own face in your mind, Dave? ]

[ weird as heck! dave pauses, even as he finishes drawing up his video camera... ]

...That's a little disorienting.

[ Yep, definitely not enviable. Minato carefully moves around Dave towards the furthest part of the boat; the disadvantage between eyes and camera is that he's got to move in order to zoom in and out, broadcasting first the wide expanse of nothingness that is space below them, water as the floor to the vertical drop, and then up at where Dave is recording with the video camera. ]

It's like a waterfall...

[ He picks up one of the oars and tries poking it through the water; is it rock behind it, or empty space, more water, what? ]

Is your video camera waterproof?

[ Good. Because without warning, Minato slowly leans over the side of the boat, letting it take on water until it sinks halfway under the water just short of flipping all the way over.

Sorry I only have a trackpad and mspaint at my disposal, but this is what Minato's looking to explore. ]

[ He had asked if the camera were waterproof, that's warning enough. But also rather nonproductive, because the waterfall hits the back of Minato's head and he has to lift a hand in order to unsuccessfully shield his eyes to see...

Also he feels the boat lurch a little lower under the torrential force. ]

Minato pulls his head out of the water, muttering something about a salmon run under his breath. The boat is waterlogged and won't flip back, and they're still hanging over the edge of the world, but it's fine. ]

Nothing much to see. If you're done recording, start climbing the rope back up. We won't have to swim.

We want me to draw another boat when we hit the other side?

[ er. the surface? oh my god. luckily dave is athletic enough to rope climb, but. ]

You don't need to. This one's fine.

[ Soaked through as the boat is, Minato likes using what he has on hand instead of leaving things out to become litter. We're going to recycle today.

Once Dave is high up enough on the rope, Minato starts after him. Just before he leaves the boat, he taps the surface of the wood and pockets it as a bead; up on the other side/surface, he lets it out again-- it's completely dry, re-drenching the both of them as it falls the half foot back into the water. ]

Alley-oop.

[ it doesn't take much to get himself back into the boat, although it wobbles. dave reaches down to give minato a hand up into the boat himself, though? ]

[ Alley-oop. Minato takes his hand gratefully, climbing onto the boat with the help and shaking the water out of his bangs so he doesn't get stuck in the eye. The climb was exhausting, and he isn't very keen on rowing all the way back. ]

...How large can your creations be? A bridge all the way back to shore?
