[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.

As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.

She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.

But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

Well, I need to heal people for my training. But if no one is injured, then healing them doesn't do anything! So either you're already injured, or I have to make you injured!

...Well, now I got a cut for you to heal, if you still wanted to practice?

Well, you did cut it up just for me. It's the least I could do.

[She rummages through the bag she brought along and pulls out a bottle of water. Without request or warning, she opens it up and pours a little bit over the hand. A few seconds later the water begins to glow, working on sealing the cut should he take a look at the process. All the while it provides a cool feeling to the cut.]

Give it a minute to work through the sealing process. Unfortunately this is the fastest it can go.

Huh. So you can heal shit with water?

[ HE POKES AT THE WATER. TO SEE. WHAT HAPPENS. ]

Yeah. If I had my usual power, I'd be able to seal you up with plankton instead. A lot faster.

Usually. Back home I couldn't really say "hey I'm plankton in a human corpse" because people would get freaked out! Here, it seems like the total opposite. You're totally chill right now as proof.

Some people might freak out? But I spent, like, the last three years livin' with aliens, soooo.
