[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.

As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.

She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.

But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

orihime starts off listening excitedly at first. she doesn't get scared by ghost stories very easily; she's actually made some of her own in the past, too! she's just an odd girl in general, so it may be weird to giorno that she's smiling, at first, as he explains the background of the story.

gradually, however, she begins to feel something akin to dread stirring in her chest. something unpleasant. unsettling.

[ it's not too bad, but orihime feels paranoid now of something lurking behind her; she turns around every so often throughout the rest of the story to check if there's anyone there, but alas, there's nobody. still, it's a testament to giorno's power that she's gotten this shaken up over his story. ]

That was a lot scarier than I expected... Wow.

[ he looks surprised at that - probably because he wasn't really expecting it to work, but also because he didn't really think it was a scary enough story. after all, he's just working overtime to get his mission out of the way. the fact that he apparently did a good job is a nice bonus, though, so he smiles, and lets go of her hand. ]

If you need any help fighting witches, I'm here.

[ he can't even say if that's not going to become real or not; after all, a witch brought them here. but it's for her comfort, more than anything else. ]

Aaah! A-Are there really witches here?!

[ she's clearly still paranoid! what a strange feeling. orihime's never been this frightened by a ghost story before, even as giorno releases her hand. ]

W-Well, other than the one who brought us here...

I just assumed there's more than one.

Don't worry about it.

[ so, the funny thing about having powers you're not used to: he can't really gauge how long the effects will last, because he's not familiar with it at all. right now he thinks that it's instantaneous, so her behaviour is quite at odds at what he's expecting of himself. ]
