[OPENING] magical training log

Where: The beach.
When: Day 4
Open/Closed: OTA
[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.
As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.
She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.
But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

Alright - I don't make the rules. First of all, we have to hold hands like we're best friends. Then I'll tell you a story.
[ and he extends a hand to him. ]

[ . . . ]
Why is the hand-holdin' a rule, though.
[ like. he will. hold out his hand he guesses? BUT DUDE ]

[ dave: is held. because giorno is a shit, he says this statement in all seriousness. ]

I'll keep that in mind.
As for the story, let's see ....
[ teenagers, and murders. ]
There was a man who was murdered hours away from the town where he lived. His family paid top dollar for the body to be delivered back to his home, but the driver has to take the back roads in order to do it. Feuds in my city are common, and the rumour was that this man fell in love with the wrong girl - you know how it is. It's the same story told many times.
[ he tilts his head to the side, purses his lips thoughtfully. ] Well, one can say that about every story. Anyway -
The truck breaks down on the way to the town. The driver is frantic, as he didn't want to be late for the service.
A man in a nice suit comes from out of nowhere to help him out. Dude gets his truck back in working order, and the driver is delighted. He shakes this guy's hand profusely, and the guy tells him, Va bene. Driver offers the man a ride; he says no, despite the driver's good-natured insistence. In the end, they part ways.
The driver makes it in time for the service. Everything is tightly monitored and all the windows are boarded up - snipers, you see. They have to protect the attendees, who knows who's going to be there.
The driver decides to walk by the open coffin to pay his respects, since he's there already anyway. He sees that the dead man in the coffin is the same guy who helped him with his truck.
[ that's all, folks. ]

he knows it isn't the kind of thing he'd find the slightest bit unsettling normally, but there's a twist in the pit of his stomach like he's at home with bro hiding around some corner -
but his hand doesn't go clammy, and his expression doesn't change. his poker face is ironclad when it comes to feeling unsettled. nothing jumped out at him so he didn't even startle, just keeping his glasses-covered gaze on giorno.
at the end, he says: ]
What's Va bene mean?

[ he lets go of his hand. ] As for the last bit, well, that'd be quite odd if it happened. However, lots of improbabilities have already come to pass.
Let's say 50-50. Deadly teenagers should also know how to help the dead; it's a good skill to have.

Or is that a condition for your powers? [ what are you, a stand? ]

Sounds pretty cool.
Does it hurt?
