[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.

As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.

She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.

But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

Oh, sure, I can definitely help with that!! How hard do you want me to go? I don't mind helping for a little longer, if you wanna try more than just a few hits.

As hard as you can okay? I don't want you to worry about hurting me, because I'll be just fine!

[She's going to go ahead and make a barrier.]

Just warn me, okay? Go when you're ready.

[butsubutsu]

[ Wahh so cool. His eyes glisten for a moment, fascinated by the display of magic. With a smile in response, he preps himself to help her. ] Alright! Hope you're ready! [ All he's got.... Though he wouldn't mind giving that much, 8% One for All would absolutely be overkill. HERE'S THE WIND UP: ] Detro-Er- [ BACK TRACK. ] Here I go!! [ With small but tremendous force, he swings that the barrier. ]

[mapsio]

I'm ready!

[She's taken a defensive stance in her barrier, ready to block whatever he was about to throw at her. She's totally got this! At least, she thought she did.

The force of the blow is enough to shatter her barrier on the first swing and also to knock her flat on her butt.]

You have such a strong swing.

[butsubutsu]

[ Like, I mean, it's not totally exhilarating to punch shit and get all that adrenaline pumping or whatever, but... Midoriya is still a little excited when it breaks. For an instant. But once he realizes he's knocked down poor Haru down, he panics. ] S-sorry!!! I I didn't think that'd happen. Here, [ he reaches his hand out to her and, assuming she takes it, helps her stand again. ] Are you alright? Nothing's hurt?

[mapsio]

[She's fine! She is completely fine. She might be laughing a little. She takes his hand and stands up again.] Don't worry, I was expecting it to break. I haven't completely mastered this quite yet.

[She brushes herself off.] Nothing is hurt either, would you mind doing that again?

[butsubutsu]

Uh, yeah sure! [ SWEATS PROFUSELY. ] Do you want me to go a little easier this time?

[mapsio]

You don't have to go easier. Doing it like this helps me make the barrier stronger. If you were less forward with your punch then I wouldn't be able to improve.

[She's ready though, taking a slow breath and creating herself a new barrier. Trying to reinforce it this time.]

[butsubutsu]

I-I mean, sure, but like- [ He starts but.. he's so odd and fumbling with his words that even his attempt to bring a different sort of reason to the table turns into incoherent mush. Haru's already got her barrier up, so Midoriya gives it up. "Don't break the egg." He never thought himself great at explaining what happens in his own head. He pauses a moment. Well, he knew he was the same way. So quietly readying his next smash, he warns: ] Okay, here's another! [ Still without attempting One for All, he swings at the barrier with all his might. ]

[mapsio]

[She stands her ground more confidently this time. Once he hits the barrier she only wobbles this time, nearly being knocked off balance. There IS some improvement though!

Instead of the barrier shattering completely, it has crack running through it. One more hit would do this barrier in. This was bringing her much closer to her goal.]

You did good that time!

[She finds it crucial to thank and praise her training partner as well.]

[butsubutsu]

Uh, Ah-hah. I think you're the one who needs the congratulations. Three hits in a row, though, right? Let's just keep going until we need a break.

[mapsio]

[Another barrier, and another defensive stance. BRING IT ON. ]
