[OPENING] magical training log
Who: Brie, whichever newbies want to show up.
Where: The beach.
When: Day 4
Open/Closed: OTA
Where: The beach.
When: Day 4
Open/Closed: OTA
[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.
As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.
She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.
But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

[Hibiki would never miss a training session even though he has been practicing alone ever since he picked a blank journal as one of the starter supplies. A few pages are hovering around him, but when he tries to add another one, all sheets are suddenly all over the place as he loses control of his power.
One of them may end up in someone's face, oops. Whether they're just a bystander or are training earnestly, Hibiki will approach them and bow.]
Please accept my humble apologies, it's my fault.
( B )
[Once the pages are back in the journal (paper restoration is something he finds easier, it seems), Hibiki decides that it's time for a break. Except not really, because during the so-called break, he's making paper crows. Surrounded by a few of these birds, some of them floating in the air, he realizes that someone has taken note of him and what he's been doing.]
Hello. I could try making something for you as well, if you'd like.
b
[ he was watching out of curiosity for just a little while, but now that he's been spotted dave asks the question that pops into mind first. ]
no subject
You're right, I have to look at them and focus. Now that you know my limits... [He sounds quite serious right there, maybe a bit too serious, even. One of the crows floats really close to Dave's face, too.] What can I do for you?
no subject
[ he has to think. the crow doesn't bug him, at least. ]
A big paper airplane that can fly a person around.
[ WHY. ]
no subject
Pictured: Hibiki right now.]
I'll try, but I hope you don't mind waiting a bit. I'm not sure how much time will it take.
[With that said, he starts ripping the journal pages.]
no subject
[ AND HE WILL SETTLE IN TO WAIT. ]
I can draw you up more paper if you need?
no subject
[For a moment here, he completely forgot that's possible.]
I'd appreciate that.
[The plan is easy: getting as many paper sheets as possible, combine them into one big paper sheet and then start folding.]
Why an airplane, though...
no subject
[ dave will start drawing sheets of paper into being...
this is stupid ]
no subject
[Just a little maybe...]
Why would anyone think about such a thing in the first place?
no subject
no subject
[Thanks to their efforts the combined paper sheets are almost ready to be folded, which is going to be the harder part.]
I'm not sure if it'll be able to fly up high, though.
no subject
[ DON'T CRUSH HIS DREAMS ]
no subject
Fun... [The longest pause ever.] You may be right. Dreams of flying sure are a thing, I suppose. Is that one of yours, too?
no subject
no subject
[Brutally honest...]

no subject
[He says it shortly, although his annoyance isn't really aimed at Hibiki; normally, he'd be teasing someone so apologetic, but this whole power-practicing business has put him in a bad mood. He does not like the idea of his, to put it lightly.]
I assume this is your power?
no subject
[Shoving paper into other people's faces, that's it, that's the ability. Hopefully, he'll get a better hang of it soon.]
And what's yours if I may ask?
no subject
[This is the worst power.]
no subject
[Hibiki stop, don't make it worse.]
Actually...I'm not sure what awaits us in those other worlds that were mentioned, but if we are to fight somebody or something you could inflict an emotion upon them, for instance, making them laugh loud...it would be easier to track them down. But for that, you need to have a perfect control over your own emotions.
[He's sure looking at Jay trying to figure out if he's capable of that.]
no subject
[There's a definite hint of petulance in this statement.]
And my ability requires physical touch. But I've certainly thought about how it could be used as a distraction tactic.
no subject
[With coming up with the tactics and so on, that is. It's just his peculiar way of cheering someone up.]
Physical touch...that may pose some problems in the future. [There he goes again, but this time around, Hibiki realizes it sooner and cracks a smile.] So...how is your training going?
no subject
[From the look on his face it is clearly not going fine.]
no subject
[He can tell, but won't say anything.]
If you ever need some assistance...we should help each other, I suppose.
no subject
Did you need help with something? [This is a more comfortable topic than his own power, at least.]
