[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.

As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.

She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.

But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

[someone is definitely going to have to fish him out - but at least chiaki's used to some level of impact?! he manages to maneuver himself so that he makes a SPLASH but at least it's feet first to break the surface tension!

[ And there he goes. Mitsuki sighs as he wades in, then goes under himself. He's not the strongest swimmer and these are his only clothes but he can't just let this guy drown. It's clear as soon as he's under that the impact was far enough out to keep him from hitting the bottom and breaking anything, but that certainly doesn't mean he's fine.

He hooks a strong hand around his upper arm when he finds the failed flyer, tugging him toward the surface. ]

[to be honest, chiaki's probably fine.

he doesn't sink like a rock like kanata and though he's disoriented once he's underwater, the pulling to bring him back up to the surface coupled with the kicks of his legs is enough to let him pierce through the surface again

I'd consider that experiment a success!

[ Probably isn't a set of odds Mitsuki's willing to gamble on. He does let go as soon as the other guy's at the surface since drowning people are more likely to pull their rescuers under with them, but he does seem to be managing all right on his own. Mitsuki just treads water a little, but the judgement of the 'experiment' has him baffled. ]

A success? What would a failure have looked like!?
