[The flying fish were not precisely expected, but at that sign that the Uvi are preparing to head back to their base, it's time for TEAM RECON to assemble. Members would at least vaguely know one another and may have made tentative ride-sharing plans, but people have undoubtedly gotten mixed up during the night of fighting and there may also be one or two late additions . . . .

Either way, Jay can act as telepathic intermediary if you can't fly and need to hitch a ride. Time for a fishing expedition . . . ?]

Right. She opens a path, you two freeze it, I'll go in and see if calming them down works at all. Anyone else who goes in should prepare to be attacked if that doesn't work, at the very least.

We might also want to find some way to take samples, but anyone who stays behind can handle that.

If we need a wider path, I can use my sword. My only concern is that if they're cut loose, these plants will drift...but if they're frozen, that should lessen the risk of direct contact.

[ She tightens her gloves. The one piece she's going to leave behind, maybe in the spare inventory slots, is her helmet. She can't be weighed down and have her vision impeded. She did, however, learn from the event with the intoxicating worm dust: she uses the bandana that was in their kits and ties it over her nose and mouth. It leaves only a little skin exposed. ]

[ She means in following her, and in making it known if his silly diplomatic mission succeeds. She'll start swinging her sword again, sooner rather than later.

[9S waits, and with good reason. If Mikleo needs to advance, he can attend to that when there aren't people in their path who could come to harm. Unlike the woman taking the lead, he doesn't need close proximity to use his sword.

In point of fact, his method of wielding is far more like throwing his sword around than swinging it. As such, he can open a wide arc without risking physical harm to himself or the sometimes-dragon who's keeping him from sinking like a rock.

It's what he has in mind as he waits there— and something he thinks to transmit to Mikleo himself]

If more need to be cut down after they advance...I won't need to be any closer than this.

[He doesn't know how encasing the plants works, exactly, unfamiliar with the capabilities of those around him... Still, he'll volunteer what he can in the hope that it helps]

[And then there was the seventh member of this little escapade. For her part, Rotty wasn't really much for planning or even deliberating. No, her method was more impulsive and as everybody else was busy with their talking, she would pop in and out of the patches of dirt that she could find to see what was up ahead.]

[But spite of this impulsive action, her eyes, ears, and at times her skin was on the lookout for any movement or vibration in the air or on the ground. Oh yes, she was well aware that they were unwelcome (the trip over made clear of that) and had little to no intention of being caught. So no matter where she went to she'd always keep the group in sight, not wanting to become too exposed so soon.]

You know, I wonder how the Uvi themselves get through all this weed and junk. Maybe we should go find one and ask?

[She wasn't serious, but also couldn't think of anything better to do as she watched and waited for everyone to catch up.]

[Rotty may not have been serious, but Jay was seriously considering it, at least--the idea of making communication with the Uvi was one that had long occurred to him.]

I'll try it if I can get one of them to calm down.

[He says it dryly, more than aware of her joking nature, and motions Nebby forward before following Carla.]

[Moon sends Nebby forward with a wave and a nod--luckily, Nebby can understand human speech, so it already knows the plan from everyone else's discussion, falling into line behind Carla as requested. Moon follows after Jay; she knows she's not going to be useful right on the front lines, but a trainer stays as close to her Pokemon as is safe!]

Maybe we could at least learn more about their habits. They seem sort of like Po--like animals, don't you think?
