[Well. This is possibly a stupid idea. But Dirk feels antsy and unsettled, useless, destructive. There are people who drop in from the sky to attack the cute lizard people, and and garbage drops from above.

So, with a great amount of nerves and uncertainty, Dirk asked if Jake was in for an adventure. And that's how they ended up flying against the surface of the ocean. Dirk reaches out an experimental hand, testing the water's buoyancy.]

Alright, English, ready to meet the Na'vi?

[Because they're blue. And Jake wants to bang blue ladies.]

[He frowns, touching the water as well.] I can't hold my breath as long as you can, wonder lungs. We'll have to fly fast.

[splinten]

Our space flight breathing might carry over to the water. I haven't tried it.

[He slips into the water experimentally—and finds himself sinking back down.]

Okay, so gravity is a thing and buoyancy somehow isn't.

[potentite]

[That isn't how physics works but he guesses they might be in an entirely new universe and anyway he didn't pay that much attention to what he read about physics, so.]

Well, lucky us that flying through water won't require me to swim. [Because he would like. Drown or fall out or both.] Does it feel different?

[splinten]

The lack of buoyancy is definitely weird. [He glances at Jake.] We start with a flight straight through, then dive back under.

[er]

If that's cool.

[potentite]

[He nods.] That's fine. I'll try not to fall behind.

[splinten]

[He almost chides Jake to have more faith in himself, then wonders how unwanted that chiding would be. He steels himself, and tries,]

You'll be good.

[It seems neutral enough, a fact and not a demand on admission of either of their feelings. With that statement, Dirk springs forward, breaking into the water with the power of flight and soaring upwards.]

[potentite]

[The neutral reassurance is appreciated and Jake takes a deep breath, just in case, before diving in after him, flying as fast as he can to get through it.]

[splinten]

[They head up, zooming fast past fishlife and possibly some Uvi, and while it takes a bit they eventually break the surface and come out on—

—and island with a barrier around it.]

Huh.
