How did you get into this building? This apartment room? What the fuck is going on? Let's refer back to this page for a semi in-depth, wow so detailed, explanation of your current situation. You'll also have a letter slipped under your door with some explanation about your whole coven situation, as well as info that explains you have magic now! And yet what kind of magic is conveniently left out. Are you up to speed? Great. Now, here's the question of the hour: what are you going to do about all this? A ▢ If you're the sensible sort and want to explore your new digs before slinking around Shehui, you're in luck! You've got easy access to your apartment, and it's luckily not on lockdown right now. Feel free to check out your room, raid the fridge -- oh, and saying hello to your roommates should also be on your to-do list. B ▢ Let's say that hanging out with these people is a little overwhelming...that's fine! There are plenty of things to do in the apartment building without interacting with roomies! There are vending machines to prop up, a leisure floor that contains a totally vacant air hockey table and a nice garden to relax in. C ▢ But ah, there's also venturing outside! Out front is the job board, which is a nice place to hit up if you're looking to add to your currently fat but depleting credit account. The problem is that the jobs are currently disappearing quickly, and those around you aren't giving you such nice looks. This apartment building is a known problem area at this point, and your signet doesn't do anything to settle their fears.

D ▢ With new year's week coming to an end, the residents of Shehui are feeling more celebratory than somber now. A lot of businesses are closed in order to enjoy themselves and ring in the new year the right way. A lot of restaurants and bars are currently offering specials, from free drinks to cheap food in order to pull in the holiday crowd. If you're looking to meet people and socialize in Shehui, this is the best way to do it. E ▢ Also because it's the post holiday season, stores are trying to push out the rest of their overstock merch. One item of note that's being peddled quite often is a cell phone. From tiny flip phones to the latest Orange product, cellphones are a necessity in this modern society. Get yours right now and begin texting right away! There are a few social apps that are installed, so you might be lucky enough to connect with another coven member! They also have Redmolar capability, which will automatically allow you to text those with phones in the area. Maybe send some mysterious stranger texts? F ▢ While you're hustling around Shehui, you may realize that the telepathic messages get stronger -- perhaps the new coven members are near? In general, you may be subject to telepathic messages about current Shehui goings on, random thoughts or requests to meet up at so-and-so location. A.K.A. let's utilize that telepathy...it may not last forever! G ▢ Because the week of remembrance is still going on, flowers are littering the streets, though most of them are dead. Bunches of flowers are being sold, and flower fortunes are a popular activity during this part of the holiday. There are fortune tellers on the street who will give you your flower of the year, but it's more fun to have them read with one another! There are digital cards that you can buy that will allow you to read fortunes on the go -- simply tap the screen of the card and your flower will be decided. Not happy with your choice? Too bad! It won't randomize to something different, no matter how hard you try. H ▢ While a lot of Shehui citizens are trying to avoid the coven members like the plague, a small alien child isn't so much concerned with who helps her, just as long as someone does. She accidentally left her house's door open and her five new kittens are suddenly missing! Where are they? Who knows! But she'd certainly like some help looking for them. I ▢ As the day winds down, snow falls on Shehui for the last time this season. The government is getting rid of their supplies that create the festive weather. This is old hat for older coven members, but for newbies? You better enjoy the snow while you can. After an hour or so, it piles up enough to truly be utilized for merriment...this also means that it's pretty easy to get snowed in if you happen to be in a building during the snow fall, which also creates some interactive opportunities. J ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world?

[His gaze does have a habit of piercing directly into his soul--sort of looking at other people like they’re tasty pieces of meat. Yes, all of them.

He totally didn’t ask, but he’s still attentive, so it’s okay.]

Life, hm…? [He glances off to the side in thought] Interesting that we’ve met then, as at one point, I controlled what was essentially, death.

[Ah, but a question about his forms, that perks Valerius up immediately] For blending in with humans and humanoids, yes it is. But for the aspect of power...not so much. Sadly, that form was not lost to time, but to this...coven’s...restrictions.

[He grits his teeth and narrows his eyes to icy slits of disdain, then perks and tilts his head curiously, glasses sliding down his nose.] Surely, you’ve lost something as well? I’ve surmised that some sort of odd trade-off took place without our consent...

[not that he. ah. minds being looked at like a piece of meat]

[Qilby's lost a 'form' of his own, he supposes - the fusion with the Eliacube was delicious while it lasted. The raw power he'd felt, with that wakfu coursing through him--! It felt as though he'd ascended to godhood, just for a few moments.]

[Shame someone had to ruin it.]

[But that's aside the point.] I've lost an important artifact from my world - one not easily replaced, I'm afraid. I wonder what Qri could be doing with it.

Ah, but you're not human at all, then? [BONE-DRY:] Well, color me surprised; with the way you talk, I didn't think you'd be anything but. [As evident in his eyes, then in the little twitch of the right horn of his hat, it's a joke.]

[There’s an edge of wickedness in Valerius’ smile (but no razor teeth this time) as he catches that small movement. He leans forward at his table, resting his chin on long, elegant hands]

[He answers back playfully, with a small laugh in his voice as he gestures one hand outward, focusing all of his willpower to not to swirl water around his fingers as he does so. That hand is tense, and tendons pop further from the skin. it’s clear this is difficult for him. This time, he seems to understand jokes well enough, and even plays along.]

Why, I’m about as human as you are, good sir.

[Qilby rolls with it, though, leaning forward himself. He's curious what Valerius is, really, but he's courteous enough not to ask for now. There'll be a moment.] So we're the same in that, then. What tipped you off that I'm not, if I may ask?

[Valerius chuckles deeply and removes his glasses, placing one of their arms between his teeth.]

I could give you a lengthy explanation, but you made a point about being careful about what I say, so perhaps I’ll give that to you later...but for now settle for this: [His grin toothy, his voice softly silken, he glances to the horns on Qilby’s hat, then points with a long finger.]

Your hat moves as if something’s beneath it...certainly not mechanical in nature, too fluid. So from this, I surmise that whatever’s under there is organic and clearly not present on human anatomy.

[A moment of surprise passes across his face, the first Valerius might have seen from him. He hadn't expected this stranger to pick up on a twitch he barely recognized himself. The raised eyebrow, though, quickly turns into an expression of interest.]

Observant - observant enough that I'll look forward to the full explanation later. [He leans back in his chair, putting a distance between them.] Here I was, thinking everyone would be too absorbed in their newfound powers to notice those smaller things.

[That single instance of surprise from Qilby is met with a brief, predatory expression in as a result. And here Val thought the twitch was intentional. ]

I’ll be more than happy to indulge you, sir…[He leans forward at the table in response, folding his arms beneath his massive chest and places his glasses carefully in his breast pocket.]

And miss all the little things about people that can raise so many questions? I’d never I enjoy observation a bit too much for that. [He hums airily, eyes flickering to one side as he leans on one hand]

Though to be honest, my power isn’t much in comparison to what I used to be able to do...Mirrors and water are both reflective surfaces, water even being compared to one in some ridiculous novel or another. So, perhaps I’m in the minority that isn’t that excited about what I’ve been given.

[wh-- Qilby watches the body language carefully for a beat. Hold on, is this guy hitting on him?? Not that he minds - it's been eons since he's felt desirable, and the stranger is a pretty sight - but...]

[He rolls with it, because of course he does.] Mirrors, then - but mirrors only show a surface, despite the superstitions some have about them, don't they? Just a reflection of light.

I mean, I suppose you could break the mirrors into smaller pieces if you wanted to do anything useful.

[Truth be told, he hits on everyone with a dirty soul.]

[Valerius is considerate enough this time to keep his voice quiet, and check for anyone that might be looking over. No one. Good.

He nods along]

It’s true, but if I still have a certain power of my old self, then my mirrors can show much more than merely outer appearances. [His other hand taps against the table. Valerius always prefers to show, not tell, but now was not a good time]

They also reflect the sins, or negativity within a target's soul--showing them as a series of crystals sprouting from their flesh, usually…[He gives Qilby a pointed look as a memory prods at the back of his mind, then he adds with a light wave of his hand.]

But sometimes, there’s the occasional anomaly. To be honest, I’ve never tested it on someone not of my world.
