How did you get into this building? This apartment room? What the fuck is going on? Let's refer back to this page for a semi in-depth, wow so detailed, explanation of your current situation. You'll also have a letter slipped under your door with some explanation about your whole coven situation, as well as info that explains you have magic now! And yet what kind of magic is conveniently left out. Are you up to speed? Great. Now, here's the question of the hour: what are you going to do about all this? A ▢ If you're the sensible sort and want to explore your new digs before slinking around Shehui, you're in luck! You've got easy access to your apartment, and it's luckily not on lockdown right now. Feel free to check out your room, raid the fridge -- oh, and saying hello to your roommates should also be on your to-do list. B ▢ Let's say that hanging out with these people is a little overwhelming...that's fine! There are plenty of things to do in the apartment building without interacting with roomies! There are vending machines to prop up, a leisure floor that contains a totally vacant air hockey table and a nice garden to relax in. C ▢ But ah, there's also venturing outside! Out front is the job board, which is a nice place to hit up if you're looking to add to your currently fat but depleting credit account. The problem is that the jobs are currently disappearing quickly, and those around you aren't giving you such nice looks. This apartment building is a known problem area at this point, and your signet doesn't do anything to settle their fears.

D ▢ With new year's week coming to an end, the residents of Shehui are feeling more celebratory than somber now. A lot of businesses are closed in order to enjoy themselves and ring in the new year the right way. A lot of restaurants and bars are currently offering specials, from free drinks to cheap food in order to pull in the holiday crowd. If you're looking to meet people and socialize in Shehui, this is the best way to do it. E ▢ Also because it's the post holiday season, stores are trying to push out the rest of their overstock merch. One item of note that's being peddled quite often is a cell phone. From tiny flip phones to the latest Orange product, cellphones are a necessity in this modern society. Get yours right now and begin texting right away! There are a few social apps that are installed, so you might be lucky enough to connect with another coven member! They also have Redmolar capability, which will automatically allow you to text those with phones in the area. Maybe send some mysterious stranger texts? F ▢ While you're hustling around Shehui, you may realize that the telepathic messages get stronger -- perhaps the new coven members are near? In general, you may be subject to telepathic messages about current Shehui goings on, random thoughts or requests to meet up at so-and-so location. A.K.A. let's utilize that telepathy...it may not last forever! G ▢ Because the week of remembrance is still going on, flowers are littering the streets, though most of them are dead. Bunches of flowers are being sold, and flower fortunes are a popular activity during this part of the holiday. There are fortune tellers on the street who will give you your flower of the year, but it's more fun to have them read with one another! There are digital cards that you can buy that will allow you to read fortunes on the go -- simply tap the screen of the card and your flower will be decided. Not happy with your choice? Too bad! It won't randomize to something different, no matter how hard you try. H ▢ While a lot of Shehui citizens are trying to avoid the coven members like the plague, a small alien child isn't so much concerned with who helps her, just as long as someone does. She accidentally left her house's door open and her five new kittens are suddenly missing! Where are they? Who knows! But she'd certainly like some help looking for them. I ▢ As the day winds down, snow falls on Shehui for the last time this season. The government is getting rid of their supplies that create the festive weather. This is old hat for older coven members, but for newbies? You better enjoy the snow while you can. After an hour or so, it piles up enough to truly be utilized for merriment...this also means that it's pretty easy to get snowed in if you happen to be in a building during the snow fall, which also creates some interactive opportunities. J ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world?

[ What's a vending machine? Celica can't tell you that because there's no such thing where she comes from. What she normally does out in the world is break boxes and smash jars to find food, so it should apply the same here, right?

She takes out her sword, ready to smash the vending machine open until she realizes there are some weird numbered buttons on them. She aborts her terrible idea temporarily and begins to press all of them. ]

I see now, this is a puzzle. I must earn this if I wish to eat.

[ beep, boop, beep, boop... ]

There must be some trick to it.

[ Now she's just pressing them slower, with pauses in between. ]


D. (a priestess walks into a bar...)
[ Even if the drinks are cheap or free, Celica doesn't drink any alcohol whatsoever. Instead, she orders herself a soda, which... she also has never experienced before! It's quite sweet and she finds herself sitting at a bar stool, drinking her third glass as the other two empty ones have yet to be taken away.

Should anybody be nearby, Celica will try her hardest to socialize. She has to start making friends if she wants to survive in this world, because nobody from Valentia is going to come to her rescue here (as far as she's aware!). ]

Excuse me... may I recommend a refreshment for you? This here is called "soda" - it's quite tasty!

[ She hiccups! ...Not from being drunk, of course, she just drank 2fast2furious and is now paying for it. ]


E. (selfies galore)
[ SURPRISE BITCHES, Celica has a cellphone!! She may have been swindled out of half of her given allowance, but in her defense, the sales rep was really convincing. She's not sure what she's doing with it, of course, but she seems really fascinated with the selfie feature! The only problem is, every time she takes a photo, she accidentally sends it out to anyone who's nearby. The photos themselves range from Okay to WTF Are You Doing.

Maybe text her to stop??? Or just wrestle the phone out of her hands if you come across her directly on the street. ]

[ Celica is tasked with finding five missing kittens. She's not sure which ones belong to the poor child, so what does she do? She's herding twelve of them. Or trying to, at least? It's actually not as easy as it sounds (go figure), and to make matters worse, she's holding up traffic on the streets as she tries to cross while leaving a trail of snacks for eleven cats.

Wait, eleven?!? SHE LOST ONE ALREADY. ]

[ Celica is trapped inside a building with somebody. It's as simple as it gets. Despite having a clumsy start here in Shehui, Celica takes their situation very seriously, and might even start to assume command.

Her demeanor is cold and guarded; not quite showing as much emotion as one would expect at a time like now. ]

This isn't good. How are we doing with supplies?

[ She means food! They might be here for a while. ]

[ It was a normal day until Riko notices Celica trying to split the vending machine into two with a sword, no less. She doesn't approach right away, just watches her from a safe distance for a little while, and even when she offers to give her a hand, Riko makes sure to stand at least a few steps away. ]

M-Maybe I can help...? What would you like?

[ She's glad that Celica came to the conclusion that sword won't be necessary for this "puzzle", though. ]

[ It's only a temporary conclusion. Thankfully Riko comes in before Celica goes back to her original plan and unknowingly commits a crime on her first day here. ]

[woah...a cute girl is talking to him out of no where... No, okay, focus. She's actually saying something...a little worrying.]

[Jörgen will be absolutely relieved to find out it is just soda, but someone bumbling around excitedly, hiccuping, and apparently not well-verse in drinks has his brotherly instincts acting up. Gotta make sure she's not being taken advantage of somehow...!]

[ What a sweet man! If only Celica knew of his chivalry. It's definitely good instinct, though, Celica is just lucky that nobody has tried to take advantage of her in that manner. ]

[ Noctis will just be a hapless victim of countless photos being assaulted into his phone which isn't all that different from the norm. At first, he thinks it's his best friend up and about, eagerly sending him a few sightseeing photos. Except the sheer number of terrible ones is more than he's used to seeing from Prompto. Did his camera break or something? And why is he obsessed with taking so many photos of this one girl... actually, that's also not different from the norm, but this is starting to get a bit stalkery by now.

Come on, Prompto, have some restraint.

He's just about to text those words to his friend after maybe the 50th or so photo before stopping short of the task, noticing they're coming from a different source than the usual. On the plus side, this means his friend isn't being creepy. On the down side, who is sending these photos to him...?

Better to think it's just his best friend texting from elsewhere. Who else would text him? ]

Did you get a new phone, Prompto? Don't tell me you dropped your old one in the toilet.

[ Celica reads the text and correctly assumes it's not something meant for her eyes. The thing she does get wrong is assume that she's being followed by this "Prompto" figure. A Duma faithful? No...

They wouldn't drop their items in a toilet. ]

[ SHE RUNS THE FUCK OVER THERE RIGHT NOW, but she doesn't look angry or threatening at all. In fact, she approaches Okuni with a relieved smile. ]

so here she is, crouched down on the opposite side of the street with lord whiskers pawing at the manekineko dangling from her umbrella. ]

Well look what the cat dragged in. [ she'll give the plush a soft poke back towards the kitten, pleased her umbrella now feels less off balance and weird now that it isn't lacking a "mascot". ] If this charm really does bring good luck, maybe you'll grow into those whiskers.

[ he knew that snow could be a bit of a nuisance in large amounts, the same as anything else in abundance, really, but it's the first time he's ever come in close, first-hand contact with it. Mikazuki certainly had no idea that you could even get trapped by something that was just harmlessly cold and soft.

Not that he's looking worried in any way — even with the uncertain prospects of their rescue (or escape, whichever came first), he is as calm as if he is just waiting in line at the grocery store. ]

[ She's a little bit hungry, but not enough to say she's starving. Politely, she shakes her head with a grateful smile. ]

You're too kind, but it's best we save as much as we can. We don't know how long we could be trapped here...

[ Hey, at least neither of them is panicking, so that's good! It allows for a more casual conversation to pass the time. ]

( Hi roomie!! Not that Elise knows, but oh well. Her first experience with Celica is stopping dead in her tracks as she watches her take out that big sword -- 95% on guard, 5% slightly attracted. The larger of the percentages melts away, though, as she watches this...cosplayer...either stay really committed to this character, or they literally don't know how to use a god damn vending machine. )

The trick is you need to put money in it. ( She slides over, examining her efforts. ) Well, there are other ways...your sword would probably do okay, actually, if you want to go the criminal route.

[ camilla has been low-key looking for the radiant queen sending her (and countless others, if this group chat is any indicator) all manner of pictures today. some leave a lot to be desired, but just as many of them look as if they're straight out of one of those beauty magazines she's so fond of. not enough to where she's been wandering aimlessly, of course, but celica doesn't escape her eye when she sees her outside the coffee shop. ]

Ah, there you are, my mysterious beauty. Hmhm, and here I was afraid I would never find you. Aren't I just the luckiest?

[Typically, it's a machine that vends things.

But Orga shouldn't be snide about such things. There's no such thing as magic where he's from, so he's still struggling to get used to that whole "voices in your head" and "weird senses of things you could do but previously couldn't" sort of thing.

The first problem he sees when he steps into the lobby and finds the young woman standing in front of the vending machine is the sword. He's already approaching, feeling he might need to intervene before she decided to go full Luddite on the thing, but thankfully she finds the control panel.

And just starts... pressing all the buttons.

Orga is semi-hovering nearby at this point, and he decides to take another step closer, peering at the machine with one hand to his chin as she tapped at the number-pad.

Close, but no cigar.]

Mmm... maybe it needs something in exchange.

[ the fact that this girl in front of the vending machiene has a sword is absolutely terrifying to ruby - that definitely isn't a toy, and it looks like she's about to attack! of all the days to have wanted a chocolate milk... maybe it would be better to just hide and wait until she goes away.

but as she watches celica idly press buttons, she's looking at it in a way that hanamaru would... and even though this girl looks older than her, ruby picks up on it. maybe she'd need help like her friend does when it comes to technology.

gathering up all of her courage, she gulps and steps out of her hiding spot behind a nearby garbage can. ]
