[The kitchenette doesn't offer much counter space, but it shouldn't be an issue; Velvet has cooked with much worse conditions to contend with. She has most of the dry ingredients out and ready, along with the butter, which has been softening outside of the fridge. The oven is in the process of preheating, and Velvet has a nice shiny pan for them to use. It's all arranged rather neatly.

There's nothing left to prepare, so Velvet folds her arms and waits for The Victim to arrive. It ought to be an entertaining, and perhaps messy, afternoon.]

Do we have the ingredients though? Because quiche strikes me as something that might require an extra grocery shopping trip.

If that's the case, we ought to get going now.

[She likes the enthusiasm, but…]

I didn't mean now. Go on and get the witch her cake.

Well give me a shopping list, and I can pick everything up next time I see you. How's that?

[Wait.]

Crap, do you have a cake box or something for this thing?

[allconsumed]

[She shrugs, again having to stop herself from mockingly calling him something like "a good little assistant." She's halfway through jotting down the ingredients when he says the other thing, which causes her to stop briefly and make a face.]

… I didn't think about that. Damn.

[teratias]

[Waver frowns. Of course.]

Okay, what about a regular box and parchment paper we can put on the bottom? We can keep it on the plate, at least, and the parchment's just for safety.

[allconsumed]

That's inventive and all, but I don't keep random boxes around.

[She actually feels kind of bad.]

Just run to the store. The cake's not going anywhere, and you could get something nice.

[teratias]

Okay, I'll be back as fast as I can.

[Fast actually means in about 20 minutes, but Waver comes back with a bright blue box with white swirls on it. It doesn't look bad at all, and there's something else rattling around within.]

I picked up some sprinkles while I was at it.

[allconsumed]

Nice touch.

[Like Magilou needs more sugar, though?]

Hope you got the right size.

[teratias]

[To make a point, Waver walked over and hovered the box over the cake. It was just slightly bigger in order to fit the cake there.]

Yeah, we're fine.

[When does the amount of sincerity in someone's voice go past the point that it sounds insincere instead to the discerning listener? Exhibit A.]

Well, it wasn't misplaced.

[Waver sniffs, and puts the box down on the counter. He then focuses on getting the sprinkles on the cake, carefully applying them to only the sides of the cake. It's a nice touch, if not...way too fiddly, in truth.]
