Who: Mika Kagehira & You
Where: Around
When: Days 165 to 172
Open/Closed: Open!! It's a bunch of prompts, have at it!
i. part time jobbing
[Mika's used to doing part-time jobs of almost every kind at this point of his life, which is both a feat and also slightly concerning since a boy his age shouldn't have to worry about money that badly, and... it's helping out with his own nerves and loneliness to have some semblance of normalcy by doing a number of them.
Even ones where he has to serve people, like cashier and the like, though he's high-strung and overthinks and makes mistakes, often scolded by the boss for knocking over displays (sorry) and breaking dishes in waitstaff (sorry!!!).
Special mention, of course, goes to the holiday mascoting he's actually quite gleefully doing, because no one can see his face and that's perfect thank you very much. This is just a general work prompt though, catch him being scolded, knocking over things, spilling food on you... or be caught for holiday cheer.]
ii. idol practice
[Shehui's a packed place, but every now and then Mika's able to find someplace that's relatively clear of people and has an open enough space to practice in... because just because he's not in Yumenosaki anymore doesn't mean he can slack any, even if it feels lonely to be singing and dancing alone. He can pretend it's just self-improvement! Not that he's without his usual partner! Yeah.
The sorts of dance moves he has going on are far more elegant than one'd expect if they'd talked to the nervous wreck of a boy, face the picture of grace as he moves with ballet-like motions, as if following commands from hanging strings. Sweeping, flourished arm gestures included. As elegant as they are, though, there's clear purpose and power; Valkyrie wasn't top of the school for no reason, and a combination of this style and the songs they sung were often a powerful image.
Speaking of singing, it's difficult for him to sing these songs by himself since they're really not for just one person, but he's trying both him and Shu's for practice's sake. There's two in particular (this one and that one for those interested, he's the warmer voice) he's focused on since they're the ones he has bigger parts in, and... he has not a single inkling of the Kansai accent that riddles his conversations when he talks.]
♪~♪~♪~♪
[Feel free to hear him doing Christmas carols too though, because hell if he will not sing that shit.]
iii. this officer? this is my stomach, which definitely moves of its own according
Nnah!
[The loud cry of distress from a boy who's just realized, without a doubt, he has grabbed the wrong scarf. He's made two since he got here to fend off his own demons, one that wiggles and one that does not, but... well, he's mistakenly grabbed the wiggling red one. It's just a simple thing that'll hold for the rest of the winter most likely, but he's gripping onto it and looks kind of odd doing so, because it's a scarf? You don't hold your scarf.
Your scarf also does not usually wiggle in greeting at people, which gives Mika panic as he decides shoving it under his jacket is a valid course of action, resulting in... a wiggling bundle under his jacket, good job. He's getting a lot of looks and he's cold and that is a piece of the scarf waving hello at you from beneath the jacket's hem, hello.]
iiii. wildcard!
[if there's something else you want to do that's not on here, feel free to hit this one up!! if you'd like to plot something out, hmu at
sundrymunity and we can work it out!]

so unfortunate that his head gets caught when he's doing a small spin and comes off. It's nice feeling because mascot costumes are hot? But, like. He is revealed.]

Nnah, it came off! M'gonna get in trouble!

It happens. Here?
no subject
[But he'll just sort of hold it for a moment, staring at the comical eyes before he puts it back on.]
I don't think I'd really get in trouble or anythin' like that, but it feels like I would... And it was pretty nice, bein' a bear. No one can tell who I am under this mask.
[i mean
sure, buddy. no one that's talked to you knows.]
no subject
[ Sorry he's here to dash your dreams!! ]
It does seem like the sort of job that suits you though, if covering up helps with the stage fright. You seemed to be having a lot of fun.
no subject
[!!! Paws in the air!!! He was told to be as expressive as he could be, instruction wise, since they have to go off body language. He presses them together next, hiding the bear's smile.]
I don't really like singin' unless I'm with Oshi-san [or Nazuna, but that is an Issue he doesn't wanna touch] but bein' somethin' else for a change is kinda relievin'~. Um, I don't sound too bad, right? I ain't used to singin' alone.
no subject
[ Jun isn't even bluffing, he genuinely thinks so!! Like, damn, what training must it take to get a voice like that? ]
I'm glad you wanted to sing with me, even if it's as a teddy bear.
no subject
Eheheh~. I have to for my job, bringin' cheer and all around... Nn, I didn't even get to complete the spell for the spirits. Y'mind playin' along a little longer, Junya?
no subject
no subject
[Right!! He'll hesitantly take Jun's hands this time, raising them up and down with a soft songy chant.]
Spirits of the season, bring us joy and cheer~♪ Let us have a happy, happy, happy holiday~♪
[... It is obviously marketed to kids.]
Then you sing it too!
no subject
And it turns out, he's got a not half bad stage presence when he commits - hands moving with Mika's easily. His voice isn't half bad either, even if it's obviously amateur. ]

Now they'll visit ya and bring ya all sorts of happy things~. Just make sure you thank 'em properly with some sweets, they're real fans of sugar~.
[And, job done, he'll rub the costume's cheeks.]
Yer not bad though, y'know~. Ya just need practice!

[1000 credits, Jun. The money was the biggest factor in this but now it really is fun.]
no subject
[ Jun is practical!! ]
no subject
[... And for more magical scarves, I guess. But the point is this boy doesn't know when to stop and rest and he's part-timing his vast amount of worries and loneliness away.]

[ IT'S A SERIOUS CONCERN ]
no subject
Nn... He's strange enough that he might like 'em anyway, but I don't know... Oh, but it ain't like every piece I make moves! I tried another scarf to see if it'd do it too and it didn't!

[It'd be terrible to break it down, after all... Theoretically if he undid some of the knitting it'd stop being alive, but. That's like killing it. That scarf is going to Last.]
Do ya need anything, Junya? I don't mind makin' somethin' for ya too while I'm at it, even if it ain't gonna be anythin' special.
no subject
[ God. He's embarrassed at himself for saying that. It shows a little. ]

Why's that?
