rebells if your character would have icly asked to come!
[So you may have gotten a telepathic message a few days ago about an expedition to map the coastline . . . or maybe you were invited along by a friend. Whatever the reason, it's bright and early this morning, and it's time to set out!
Characters would have gotten a further telepathic message from Jay with a date and time to meet outside the shacks. They'll be heading east along the "shore," tracking the coast, and then heading directly back towards base camp . . . who knows what they'll find along the way?]

What the fuck this is so sad.
[He has only barely gotten used to seeing trees. And now there are these trees?? He knows about tree diseases in theory, he has listened to Jake talk for years, he has even seen pictures of things. But he hasn't ever seen anything of the like in person.]

[He's perched there, in one of the trees of the orchard. He finds it quite beautiful from this view, but then again, death is a very beautiful thing should one learn to appreciate. It is the world's transience that is so infuriating, and yet gives you motivation to do something within it. That was something he had learned through his observations. So even a disease ridden orchard on its last legs, to him, could be an admirable thing.]

Wow. Super deep. I'm moved.
[Narrator: He was not, in fact, moved.]

[He chuckles, and he jumps down from the tree, landing on his feet with a soft thud. he then walks over towards Dirk, standing at his side.]

Nah, this is practically a Socratic dialogue.

[He's just going to shift the subject, this is starting to get a bit awkward for him at this point.]
"Have you ever been to a place like this before?"
no subject
[All of Houston was. He isn't actually sure if that's what Joshua meant, but he'll follow it along.]
no subject
[He hasn't. All of his memories are of Shibuya. He might have left before he became composer, but if he did, whatever it was had long since faded.]
"Also, underwater?"
no subject
[He gives a shrug at the idea, approaching it casually.]
I grew up by the ruins of a sunken city.
What about you?
no subject
[Well, least Dirk had something possibly interesting about him, given that tidbit of information. So it was time for the questions.]
"How did it get underwater?"
no subject
[It's a deadpan reply, and technically true. He isn't being evasive for the sake of it; he just hasn't gotten a sense of Joshua yet. It means he defaults to a sort of ironic stance to try to navigate the situation.]
What year?
no subject
[I mean they never say the year in the game so I'll just go with the japanese release year for convenience's sake.]
"And you?"
no subject
[It's 413 by the PC calendar, but he doesn't expect Joshua to know it.]
Which probably explains more about the sunken city.
