Jeanne, I'll have to stop you there. I'm not making breakfast with an egg that size. We can't finish it and I don't trust it. Put the dinosaur back where you found it and I'll make you proper pancakes.

[Jumin's drenched and on his knees, but not in the way lonely housewives and socialites want him to be. He coughs the seawater out of his mouth before collapsing onto the pavement, exhausted from a struggle. Not so far away, a killer whale floats away from the scene in its bubble. Judging from its monolithic presence, it wouldn't have let Jumin go if it hadn't been startled. They're more human than cougars, he thinks.

guess which prompt i'm picking.
did i mention she hates fighting? because she does. even with a master she's got one hell of a low endurance stat so even if she's not as afraid of getting into the thick of things as she used to be, there's still that bone-deep exhaustion that sets in after a few hours of defending the land. eliza's propped herself up against her lance as she tries to breathe deep this thick, humid air, her wings held limp against her back. claws grip tightly to her polearm, ready to steel herself when— ]
Huh?!
[ she heard her name!
her head whips around as she hears the clattering of .... a cellphone on the ground.
oh yeah, and that guy getting flanked by some deep sea creatures. brilliant.
his only saving grace is that he named his cat after her!! so!! eliza guesses she better go save his ass. her wings flare out, she gathers her strength and she leaps forward, smashing her lance into one of the shark's heads. the squid is squishy and she will have to figure out how to deal with that in a second — right now, it's better to make sure jumin doesn't get his face bitten off. ]
i'm ready
Anyway, getting rid of the shark first was the right choice. Jumin would have done the same. Obviously, he has to congratulate her for it.]
Good call, Elizabeth, but my pho—
[Nevermind, the squid's jetting off. And he's... mildly frightened? It's a quiet sort of fear.]
i'm so sorry work ate me alive
watches as the squid jettisons up and off towards the water.
god she looks so unimpressed with this but luckily for her she's used to dealing with spiky tentacle monsters. she can do this. this is fine, she's got this.
those spiky tentacle monsters were all archer classes though, and this — probably doesn't have a class. unless it's beast-class.
hell.
a deep sigh escapes her and her wings beat the air more fiercely than before. she has to get to them before the squid breaks into the water. in the water, the beast will have the advantage — she has to use her voice now, and with a steady breath in, eliza lets out a strong, wavering note that sends shockwaves through the air and into the squid. ]
Laaaaaaaa~☆!!!
c, for chaos
[Hakuno smiles back, because Cumin is pretty much her friend, she thinks.]
Moths and butterflies evolved to have false "eyes" to ward off predators, right?
catastrophe
Yes, that's correct. Faces can evoke all sorts of emotions. Fear, joy... [He pauses to look at her, and his sharp eyes soften. He shrugs as if to lighten a burden of his own. Too much emotion and things tend to stand still.] I suppose it's why I haven't been able to focus. I've been seeing the same face everywhere.

That 'Elizabeth 3rd' of yours, right? You must miss her a lot.
1/2
This is new. The comfort takes him by surprise and, for once, leaves him vulnerable.]
I do.

[He turns around and walks away from her hand.]
Do you understand what I'm saying, Hakuno?

[Hakuno...]

That's... wrong.
[HAKUNO]
no subject
[He seemed pretty much married to his job from what she could tell.]
Or maybe a dear friend? There's no shame in being homesick, either way.
no subject
[It's too awkward to flirt at this point, so he's just going to try and keep it together...]
But I am worried about Jihyun. Most call him V — he's my childhood friend. [His only friend.
He adjusts his cuffs.]
I fear his condition will get worse the longer he avoids treatment.

either way, akira's in pretty good spirits. and he's more than happy to extend a helping hand to a fellow cat lover. especially when he's his "elder." ]
Should I call life alert? [ old man. either way, he's going to crouch beside jumin and try to assess what the hell is wrong with him. ]
...Ah. Do you need healing or just a hand?
no subject
A hand, a towel and a change of clothes. Will you pull me up or not?
no subject
Well, I can do one of those right away... [ he doubts he needs to elucidate. anyway, he's going to offer a hand and just try not to laugh. ]
...What happened?
no subject
[He grabs Akira's hand and pulls himself up.]
I planned to make a run to the evacuation center down the street, but there was a squid.
no subject
[ he repeats it. then again, he's witnessed a falling shark, so that's a fair excuse. ]
I'm surprised it didn't poison you.
[ or something? ]
no subject
[He adjusts his suit. Leave it to Jumin to read every damn book under the sun about science.]
I'm more grateful that it didn't try to feed me to a shark.
no subject
That'd be ... quite the sight. You're probably too bony.
[ hahahaha. what jokes! anyway, he shakes his head. ]
Wanna head back for the coven house together, then?
no subject
[ oh boy ]
After I encountered the squid, I met a killer whale.

a is for act like a cat and get those fish, Jumin!
He's ready for this battle now, because the real fight comes later -- a familiar fight, and one he should be prepared for. He's not. He's actually not particularly ready for this one either: while flying piranha are small, Jumin's managed to collect quite the swarm of them.
Trying to bat at this many small, fast fish with a greatsword in water is not going to go even a little smoothly. But nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?]
... This way!
[He'll just. Try to sliiiide between Jumin and the mass of water, turning the flat of his sword against the current. Maybe he can, like, block the fish...? This would be way easier with a net, first of all, but beggars can't be choosers...]
is the sword normal... because idk if his power would work otherwise
Get out of there!
[He's not expecting Lenka to listen. He's talking to the sword.]
Perfectly normal! .... and now it's not, thanks Jumin www
He may not have entirely thought this through: he knows fish with that many teeth are bad news, especially once he gets to see them up close, but he's relatively ignorant of exactly what a swarm of magically migrated and extremely annoyed piranhas can do to somebody with a single hunk of metal for cover. Granted, he's been attacked by worse.
So, yes, while he's expecting pain and sogginess, he's still bracing for impact -- what he doesn't expect is the sudden jerk upwards, originating from what should have been a hunk of metal in his hands and which is now becoming an airborne hunk of metal. Lenka shouts in surprise as the greatsword shoots upward through the water and breaches spectacularly at the top of the magical mobile aquarium -- and then starts dragging him across the surface of the water towards the back of the mass.
This is not how swordsurfing is supposed to go, and in any case he doesn't even know what that is, and it's not on his bucket list why is this happening.]
the vanilla vanilla prompt
wait, though.
her mouth opens.]
It's not a dinosaur eg— [okay, wait again.] Pancakes? Breakfast?
as vanilla as thirst can g--nah that's not happening
[naturally.]
I actually planned on asking you to have breakfast with me tomorrow — I have it on my schedule — but now that you're here, I might as well seize the opportunity.
[But if asked why, he wouldn't have an answer. Not one he can put into words, anyway.]
