[It starts with a telepathic message over video, Jay using the mirror shard gifted by Genette to broadcast this message to the rest of the coven:]

It's come to our attention that some of you are going to want to help the Palai with their raid problem, so we thought--if we're going to be involved in this anyway, we might as well do it right. How about a meeting in front of our temporary home at noon? We'll discuss our strategy and assign roles. I'll broadcast it via this link, as well, for anyone who can't make it back in time. We welcome input from anyone who has a brain in their heads.

[If you come to the front of the house at the appointed time, you will indeed find Jay and Dirk standing together discussing--something, and perhaps a small crowd beginning to gather. This meeting will also be broadcast over the signets for anyone who wants to listen in there.]

That depends on what you can do.

I'm not going to beg, especially when I don't even know your capabilities. The Uvi could easily be a threat to us as well, especially if we remain in this place. They're certainly a threat to the people hosting us and showering us with gifts. If self-interest doesn't motivate you, then tell me your abilities, and I'll decide whether making a deal with you is worthwhile.

[She shrugs. Fair enough, really.]

Back where I'm from, my brothers and I were in acquisitions and discreet operations. Put a little more clearly, if you wanted something done, found, or moved, we'd be the person to call. We're effective, good value, but most of all we're discreet.

Think you got a use for that?

[That with a wry smile.]

We're going to be staging a reconnaissance operation, tracking the Uvi back to their base to see if we can find out more about them--what motivates them, whether they have a reason for attacking the Palai every thirty days, and so forth. How are your observational skills?

I see you have a side ponytail and a strange circle thingie covered in bells~

[She couldn't resists. Also why would you do that to yourself?]

And if we're going underwater, I can swim for a pretty long time without really needing air~

And you can make stupid jokes, I see, which is always an asset.

But since you're asking what could very well be a suicide mission with all the information we know, laughing about it would be a pretty good sign, no?

It is just a reconnaissance mission. I wouldn't be proposing it if I wasn't fairly certain we could at least make it back alive.

[He taps his foot.]

But that aside, I can't bargain if I don't know what it is you want. Brains are off the table, unless you want to try eating the Uvi.

Coffee is a good bet, but I will trade in other things, services, and favors~
