[ Siegfried knows that feeling, though that was all in the past -- until now, that is. There was another marked difference -- it was with strangers, and the only way they showed their displeasure in his presence was by their looks instead of with words or threats of violence. ]

Well, I might have a few.

One way is to integrate into their society enough that you're bound to pick up more information just by being in the right -- or wrong -- place in the wrong time. Then there's looking actively into those who hold influence in this city and attempt to do some sort of "investigating" into their private property for information. There's also the option of purposefully causing trouble so you can see firsthand what happens exactly when you cross them and they'll likely divulge something in the process.

I'm sure there might be other ways too, but these are the first that came to mind. Chalk up one or two of those to a bit of experience needing to obtain information people don't feel readily willing to provide.
