Ah. [Said with a grin, tone tinged with humor.] Yeah. I've heard about those.

[How retro.

By his point in time, most information was traded between screens such as this one, so that certainly wasn't abnormal for him. Teaching kids to read and write had also been most easily done on tablets. Not that there wasn't pen and pad, books bound in leather and paper, but it all seemed a little cumbersome when most information was digital (and needed to be, as often as it was transferred from one point in space to another).

He notices the clash between his words and his actions, raising an eyebrow. He seems more amused than anything, though, willing to see where it all might go. As for the strangers eyeing daggers at them, he wasn't particularly worried. The ones you typically needed to worry about weren't so obvious.]

Wish I had an answer for you. [He rolls broad shoulders in a loose shrug.] I'm fresh blood too. I wouldn't rule it out, though. A large, unexpected, powerful group of strangers with inscrutable motives? If something like that made a move on me, I'd sure as hell be keeping an eye out for trouble.

[But more often than not, he was heading up a group by that very description... so it's something he's used to his advantage, or maneuvered around the disadvantage, in the past.]
