It's fine. I don't think many humans in Midgard would know what to do if they saw me, either. Vern was expecting me, and he sure didn't.
["broad and scaly" describes Geir's back well. his scales have a hint of red iridescence at this range and in this light, and he seems to have placed McGillis next to a gap between the ridges running down his neck and spine... it makes a convenient seat for anyone who's willing to sit themselves there and use the protrusion as a handle to grip. Geir's done this before, and he has a fairly clear idea that the illusion of control helps settle the minds of his human passengers.
when he stands up to his full height and spreads his wings out, his absolute size unavoidably becomes more apparent. McGillis has doubtless been this high off the ground before, but in this moment he's trusting his safety to an enormous and monstrous being. meanwhile Geir, for his part, has no particular qualms about the situation. he's carried humans before and he'll do it again. it's faster.
he glances back over his shoulder at McGillis, the catlike pupil of his enormous red eye contracting to a slit against the sunlight; McGillis can see the corner of a toothy predator's grin.]
