Yes. It is a ... type of street food in Japan.
[ even now it is odd to say. he had considered all street food, all civilian food, to be utter garbage and worthless. just filled with gluttonous carbohydrates.
but not the King of the Street takoyaki. not that! ]
I believe it is fried octopus of some variety.
