this is too far out of context for her to understand, in some ways- it seems closer to the stories she'd read when she was still sick, with knights and- captured princesses(?), and villain knight-commanders or royal advisers with inscrutably grand ambitions. that's the general idea she gets from explanation, in any case, given that his garb makes it clear what his role in this tale is. but she can understand it, those taking innocents and using them as leverage over others whom they wanted to take advantage of.
