[Magilou's teasing only ever really bothered Velvet when she was giving Laphicet weird ideas. By the end pretty much all of Midgand reviled her, so that puts things into perspective. Plus Velvet doesn't necessarily enjoy hurting people; the threats and violence work as a means to an end.
