[This is very true.] You're right. The north pole back home doesn't really get over freezing. And even if you're in a place where you can see the northern lights, it doesn't get close to being this kind of weather.

I have another theory then. The atmosphere keeps us warm. It may be thinner where the sun can warm the planet much more efficiently. Or I guess it's more accurate to say a thinner Ozone layer. That provides some other scientific challenges but...

[She's only been here a day. These are just guesses. For all she knows she could (and is) be very off about how this all works.
