[So, Robin was handed an egg. He'd been hesitant to take it, to say the least; his squad of completely insane underdressed Servants at home aside, Robin's really not a people person, and even less of a parent. It's a bad idea on all accounts, but eventually he gives in to the request to take it, the Palai only becoming more insistent - and desperate - to give the orphaned egg to someone strong enough to care for it.
So he takes it, and tells the Palai not to worry, and sets off looking for a family unit that can take it instead. Surely they must have missed a childless family, right? There has to be someone here who can take care of it.
But the longer Robin looks, the more obvious it becomes that the Palai really don't have the resources or the population to take care of the hatchling that will come out of the egg, so he resigns to his fate as an adoptive parent. When he's not looking for any lizard people to adopt the egg, he's holding it carefully in his lap, keeping it wrapped up in his cloak like a blanket. He's trying not to get attached, especially since it hasn't even hatched yet, but he may already be coming up with potential names.]
I think I'd never hear the end of it if I went with Elizabeth...damn, what was that stupid dragon's name...? Fafnir, or something?
[This is hopeless. He already likes the little thing.]
C. your friendly(?) neighborhood robin hood
[Before he was Robin Hood, he was some nameless villager in a quiet little town, so hauling wood and fixing up damage done to doors and walls feels like second nature to him. He was never very involved with his village, but he did help out whenever he could; admittedly, that wasn't often, since they thought he was possessed by the fair folk, but that also meant they usually didn't help him very much when he needed to fix up his own place, either. So he's definitely got enough experience to know what he's doing.]
Here, give me the last leg, this table will be finished in no time. How many more do you need fixed up?
[The number never seems to go down, but Robin doesn't mind helping. They don't seem to need his hunting skills for anything, with the Uvi gone his traps are useless, and while he is knowledgeable about plants, most of that knowledge refers to poison - and he isn't sure if the old plant-based remedies he uses are any good for the Palai, anyway. The last thing he wants to do is accidentally poison them. He firmly believes the only poisoning that should happen is intentional.
So that leaves woodworking. Sometimes a Palai child will try to climb into the hood of his cloak while he works, other times he'll be keeping the egg in there when he's not taking a break to keep it warm. It's almost never empty, though.]
